MicroSD: Samsung Evo 128GB
VID: 14CD
PID: 125D
Memory Chip: 0100
Chip Model: 125D20140310

Few things:
MicroSD age: Less than 1 month since purchase
I did not write protect it
Device using MicroSD: New Nintendo 3DS XL, latest luma, latest CFW/FBI/etc.
I can read everything installed (98GB of data) but cannot delete or write to it at all.

I was copying Ultra Moon to it, something failed, and it became write protected somehow.
I have used regedit, cmd, chkdsk, Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool, SDFormatter, and literally every other way in my mind to get it to not be write protected but with no avail.
I have copied all the data from the MicroSD and have a backup. I do not have another 128GB MicroSD.
I need to format this card and cannot. I need to write to this card and cannot. I need this card...
Suggestions?

It sounds like a faulty or fake card. Where did you buy it? I would try getting your money back.
Also if the reader you use on your PC is a full size SD reader try with another MicroSD to SD adapter or another reader as those can sometimes fail.

The MicroSD card came from Walmart (roughly $53), I doubt that it is fake. Faulty maybe, fake... unlikely.
Have used 3 different readers, none of which have a Write Protection locking, and have got the same results.
Every file on the card* seems to be set to Archive in properties. Currently reverting the attributes to see if that will get it going again.
I'm hoping it's not a faulty MicroSD...
EDIT* I suppose it is possible to have corrupted a sector on it when the transfer failed.

Solution: Create full backup. Bought the exact same card, returned the old one, got my money back and a new card. (I told them it was defective, it was determined defective by about 20 hours of attempts to repair...not my problem...)

Now. I had about 95GB of games installed. All I want is the save files, I have a full backup of the card.
Do I have to reinstall every single game or is there a way to get it to understand the games are there by copying back my entire "Nintendo 3DS" folder from the backup.
I need the save files from the backup no matter what. How can I reinsert the saves without losing the save files? (Namely Pokemon OR 200+ Hours, Pokemon AS 200+ Hours, Fantasy Life 300+ Hours)

Thank you everyone for the replies and help thus far.

I'll use JKSM, I know that, but do I have to manually download all the games again. The "Nintendo 3DS" folder where the games were saved on the other MicroSD was imported but no games appear.

If you have copy-pasted the contents from the root directory of the old SD card to your computer, then just follow this:
https://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog/201...-upgrade-your-3ds-sd-card-to-64gb-and-beyond/
Covers your case for 128GBs, basically initialize card, then do a couple copy-pastes, no biggie. Restores both games AND saves.

Thank you ThoD, the hundreds of hour long save files were very important to me. Thanks everyone. The MicroSD has been replaced and is now fully functional!
Luckily the MicroSD just put itself into WriteProtect mode and let me make a clone before it died entirely.

Cloned MicroSD to PC > replaced MicroSD with a new MicroSD > Redid the CFW > Copied cloned MicroSD to new MicroSD > Moved the old "Nintendo 3DS" folder contents to the new folder > Rebooted to my custom theme and all my files present
Now to play UM :D

If you're using an adapter to read the MicroSD on your PC, make sure the tab on the adapter didn't get moved. It tends to want to do that on mine, and it'll act write-protected if it does. See if you can find an adapter with a MicroSD slot (I have a Targus with a regular SD and a MicroSD slot that I now use to read Micros, and no more issues.
