You're welcome. I'm glad it worked for you, though I would still recommend updating to B9S now. https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s.html

it's really simple and takes like 5 mins. Then you can update your Luma to 8.1.1 and be all set :D
while were here, would u happen to know whats causing my freeshop games to crash? pokemon sun wont boot anymore, it happened before the sd swap and still after

Is it all the games or just Pokemon? Also, have you updated to B9S and Luma 8.1.1 before trying them again? What sort of troubleshooting steps have you tried already so I don't suggest a repeat?

on the same 3ds its just pokemon, i literally only use it for pokemon sun. ive tried uninstalling it, i also thought the freeshop might be related but i havent been able to run an update on it yet. idk

Seems more likely to me that something in your setup is causing incompatibilities with games that require extended memory. Can you load Super Smash Bros.?

You can visit the download page in eShop and choose "repair software" which will reinstall the entire game through eShop as you already have the ticket. However if that doesn't work.....

I would suggest updating to B9S, updating Luma, updating freeshop, deleting Pokemon Sun via FBI (choose delete title and ticket), then I would attempt to redownload the game from freeShop.

What happens when they crash? Do you get an error message or does it get stuck on the 3DS logo forever?
