I'm new to hackchi and the problem starts with the kernel Backup.
I click un backup Kernel and the Program says: hold reset and power on the console, hold it a few seconds and so on.
But i cant get further... Everytime i get "cant write to usb" or usb timeout...
Is it a driver problem?
I have windows 7 x64

You using micro usb cable that came with the Mini NES, if that is what you are trying to mod...as well as direct usb connection?

I have a question. For games that use retroarch, is it possible to disable START + SELECT from bringing the retroarch options menu up? I want to be able to let other people (especially kids) play without having to worry about them accidentally accessing this menu and messing the settings up.

Due to the influx of people posting videos/pictures of SNES Classics with Games Added to it, I have taken it upon myself to share the process of how it is done with you Guys & Gals, with the disclaimer, that this is meant to be informative! I will be posting another video today on how to Compress Games for use on the SNES Classic.

SNES Classic Hacked! - How to Add SNES Games!

Info for the Video

I show the entire process of adding SNES Games to the SNES Classic! Disclaimer, this is meant to show how it is done, and is not a very user-friendly method! I would suggest waiting until the Official Hakchi is updated:) But, at least you can see the process from beginning to end! If you do dare try it, keep in mind you put your Mini SNES at risk since there are still bugs being worked out! And, unless you are an intermediate or expert user, don't touch it with a ten foot pole! Enjoy the video!!! The next video I post will be how to Compress Games for use on the SNES Classic, as well as manipulate save states!

Personal thanks to illadope for helping me test perimeters!

@KMFDManic Video link doesn't work? It just leads to my channel for some reason, maybe try another URL? It should have the word "watch" in the URL.

Hi, I have some reports that original overlays don't show when backup kernel is reflashed.

They appear in the menu but only black borders are shown.

Yes, i´m using the Original Micro USB Cable.
I´m starting "Dump Kernel" and then the instrusctions came.
Reconnect, hold reset, power on, hold reset a few seconds..

if i hold it 5 Seconds then release the Reset Button, i get the Error Message: "USB Read Error IOTimedOut"
If i Hold it for less then 5 Seconds, the Power LED Turn on and i get the Error Message: "Can´t write to USB".

I switched the USB Ports, but nothing.
The Driver is ok i think, after installation it says "NES Classic Mini".

MAybe i try to switch the Kernel Dump, but i think this would be "Dumb" :)
