This. If I ever wanted to I could sell my physical copies. Can't do the same for digital. And unless you don't carry your switch in some sort of case (which is a terrible idea) I always have my games in my case with me.
Aro you joking? Walk into a store and buy the game there. You Don't have to order everything off the internet. Of course, if mindless people keep supporting Amazon, then it won't be much longer until you really don't have any other chance to buy something. But don't worry, once all brick and mortar stores were forced to close down and Amazon managed to replace 99% of their workforce with robots and drones then you will have other problems to worry about. Like not being able to pay rent. People need to wake up already. Digital downloads aren't any better, btw. Physical or nothing!
You act like buying online is almost as bad as worshiping satan. They will never replace physical stores, and stores that fail because of online stores are usually not very good stores anyway (looking at you Gamestop). Sure buying online from home is convenient, but there is also sometimes the convenience of being able to get something immediately from a physical store. I swear peoples fear of technology is rediculous.
Digital is better in that it's more convenient if you have fast internet. I don't know about other people, but in my area pretty much the only brick and mortar game store is Gamestop, and honestly I wouldn't give half a shit if all of those closed. Amazon is definitely preferable to that and they also employ people.
But you have to worry about not being able to redownload your games in a few years because the servers shut down instead.
not a huge worry for me since when that happens, I'd have zero issue getting the games elsewhere. like with the 3DS and Wii U, we can back up our digitally purchased games into an installable format. chances of the Switch eshop closing before it's hacked to a similar point as 3DS are very unlikely. it's not going to close in "a few years" unless the switch becomes a massive flop like the DSi was.
Well, the only console that I've had carts for a really long time was for the DS (mostly due to the fact that it was the first console I got). I played every game in my collection for nonstop until the 3ds came out. After that, I learned to be more careful with my games, but due to powersaves I lost a few more carts (due to how wonky it was).
