Just tried using Nintendont with Mario Smash Football:

- Using version from WiiU USB Helper ---> I can't see Nintendont interface I go though pressing A and game is launching so I can't configure it (reset game combo is working but not shutdown combo ?!) Home button cause WiiU rebooting
- Using version posted by ploggy ---> I can see Wii boot then black screen and WiiU return to system menu.

I don't have any vWii hack! Just Haxchi & CBHC. Do I miss something please?!

Edit: My bad! Concerning Ploggy's forwarder my Nintendont files weren't placed to thre right path : I placed it to wiiu/apps/nintendont/ instead of apps/nintendont/ Concerning WiiU USB Helper version I don't know what happens.

If WiiU USB Helper has nothing to do with Nintendont then explain me one thing:

- What is Nintendont downloable from WiiU USB Helper? Only a forwarder or including his own Nintendont too?
- If there's no Nintendont on it then explain me how it start me a game when I misplaced Nintendont into wiiu/apps/

You're too smart for me...

I think it could be very important to clarify so far (my understanding):

  • The Wii U USB Helper has only Nintendont v5.453 to download and install; this can be used to playGameCube games on the Wii U (not vWii), using the gamepad to play.~FIX94
  • The github has Nintendont v5.455 (to be used on the Wii/vWii, not available on the Wii U USB Helper).

  • The Wii U USB Helper version (v5.453) is freezing when you want to exit the app pressing HOME button on the gamepad. At the moment, the only way to exit the app is unplugging the Wii U.

  • Both versions (v5.453 and v5.455) are freezing on the Wii AND vWii: "Initializing Nintendont..." screen.
I don't know if I could post what I mentioned here, I even apologize for the intrusion, but I found it important to help those who are looking for a solution. I will continue for now with version v4.451, which is the last one I have before version v.5.453/v5.455. The v4.451 version works well on Wii/vWii, although it does not let you use the gamepad to play.

No, people cannot add content to USB Helper.
They can cause new games to appear if they upload the title key to the website but that would only apply to genuine games.

Regarding Nintendont, I have explained that I have added the ability to download homebrews from the application in a way that is completely transparent to the end user.
And just to clear things up the Nintendont available in USB Helper is not a forwarder, it's just the compiled version available on github injected into an iso.

probably better just have a fowarder like ploggy that way people can put the lastest version on sd card and easily update without reisntalling compiled wups for every version imo.

Yeah that's the plan, I am in the process of adding the forwarder version to the application as well.
nintendont will always need the sd card anyway to store saves and such so there isnt manny benefics on not having a fowarder, if nintendont worked without an sd card then it would make sence having a full dol but it doesnt.

So anyway, just forget issue, I'll use forwarder version.

Edit: In fact even ploggy's forwarder + Nintendont 5.455 didn't shown Nintendont interface this time. So seems like it wasn't linked to your version @Hikari06

Interesting,I thought it was weird that it only happened on the USB Helper version since the dol was exactly the same.

I'm having issues sync'ing my pro controller, it syncs perfectly on wiiu mode but when I try it on vWii/WiiVC it does not, no matter what I do, it is not a third party/chinese controller, it is an original one.

How long did you write this?
Like 2 days or so
I'm the one who wrote the guide on first post.
I spent a lot more than just 2 days. Probably a week for the raw version, then months to polish it and add all the new features and add a nice layout, with table of content, little pictures, sections, faq, written in chronological order (install before play, etc.)
Fix94 is still maintaining it to add things or fix it when needed.

I didn't work on it for a long time, so I'm sure it's missing information now.
for example, it's saying you need primary MBR and FAT32, while now you can even use EBR and exFAT. or the Kenobii file which is not needed anymore (if I remember correctly)
And now it has WiiU WiiVC support, it's currently being developed and making incompatibilities with "wii and vWii" normal launch method. so, v5 is currently only for WiiVC, and v4.451 for Wii/vWii, users shouldn't update (yet!) until v5 is fixed and stable for all mode at the same time.

Ok so its linked to nincfg.bin created on root of SD and/or saves folder for memcard emulation. Deleted both and I have Nintendont interface back!

@Hikari06 concerning forwarder you will add to WiiU USB Helper, I must confess I prefer images from your Nintendont version (for icon and bootdrc) but ploggy's boutsound (GameCube boot) is really cool! Any chance you add it to your forwarder please?
