The guy who took the Dynarec framework for BeetlePSX bounty estimated that it would be ready for September 22
However that's only for the framework. We need someone to work on a PPC Dynarec afterwards.

Exciting times. Wii VC injection and now this. Thanks for the info. The guy who took the Dynarec framework for BeetlePSX bounty estimated that it would be ready for September 22

I'm shaking. Being able to play PSX and maybe even N64 on the Wii U without injection or vWii mode would be nothing but wonderful.

Exactly why is everyone getting so excited with that date. We are many months if not years away from dynarec on wiiuDude, the dynarec itself will take a little more time. I'm excited toó bit chill.

Uhm, I'm fully aware of the fact that we (end users) get nothing at that date.Dude, the dynarec itself will take a little more time. I'm excited toó bit chill.
Lel, dynarec is alreally in developementExactly why is everyone getting so excited with that date. We are many months if not years away from dynarec on wiiu

Yes and a few well known wiiu homebrew devs have all said it will take a minimum of 6 to 8 months to make so it ain't happening anytime soonLel, dynarec is alreally in developement

I think you are forgetting what the points of the bounty are.Yes and a few well known wiiu homebrew devs have all said it will take a minimum of 6 to 8 months to make so it ain't happening anytime soon
Twinaphex said:Conditions:
- A dynarec system for Beetle PSX, preferably written in C or else C++98. Portability to the various targets libretro supports is important in considering the programming language being used here. No C++11 or C++14 please,
- A working backend for x86 32bit, x64 (x86 64-bit), ARMv7 (32bit) and aarch64 (ARM 64bit).
- Should be engineered in such a way that new backend implementations for other architectures (like ARM and PowerPC) can be easily implemented. There is a separate bounty for a PowerPC dynarec, but first this one needs to be successfully completed before the PowerPC dynarec is feasible.
- The dynarec needs to be PIC-compliant. This is essential since libretro cores predominantly are meant to run as dynamic libraries.
- Should be signifcantly faster than the interpreter CPU core, and should lower Mednafen/Beetle PSX’s CPU system requirements considerably.

No they're different romsets. Some will probably work on both, but many/most won't.. better to grab both sets really.Quick question,
Are MAME Romsets compatible with FBA?
I am wondering because I have both MAME 2003 and FBA downloaded, but I'm not even sure if they can both boot up the same ROMs or not.

That 6 to 8 month number was when we were adding dynarec support to Beetle from scratch, along with writing a full PowerPC dynarec to go along with it. I also hadn't looked at the r3000a's instruction set; which turned out to have far fewer instructions than I thought.
The current situation is that someone else is adding the support to Beetle, and @ploggy has found a PowerPC dynarec already written which should be easy enough to implement; with a similar process for the other platforms. There's a few WiiU specific problems that we're yet to come up with a solution for, but I'd expect to have PowerMacs running something a week or two after the other platforms are finished and merged. As for Wii U; we're looking at possible API changes so I wouldn't count on the paperwork getting done anytime soon.
