Depends on how the x86 stiff gets integrated, but it should be pretty much copy-paste. There are a few tech difficulties to overcome on Wii U; but for PowerPC in general (PowerMacs etc.) it should be quite easy.
Hope so we could use some good news for the WiiU Port :)

God damn, I simply cannot get this to work.
It was working (earlier version) perfectly however now that I try to run the latest stable, it hangs every time.

I followed the instructions on reddits WiiU hacks.
Simplified:

1) download the latest RetroArch: http://retroarch.com/index.php?page=platforms

2) Scroll down to Wii U and download the RPX version.

3) Open the zip and drag the retroarch folder to your SD card

4) in the same zip, browse to wiiu/apps/

5) Choose the RetroArch cores you want. I personally use Snes9x2005, FCEUMM, GenesisPlusGX, Gambatte, mgba, and prboom (used exactly the same)

6) Extract these from the zip. Then add them to your SD card in wiiu/apps/

7) download the RetroArch XMB files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzhZh67kgabrYWx4UmpLcDdiVE0

8) Open the zip and drag the retroarch folder to your SD card

9) Delete your retroarch config file

10) Run from CFWed channel Retroarch

I did this and in addition installed the channel. Its not working :( No error code or anything, just black screen and hard lock.

Any ideas?

Are you on cfw before running the channel?
The retroarch folder structure is the same as the OP?
Steps 4, 5 and 6 are not needed if you are using the channel, as mentioned in the OP.

Im 100% on the CFW, tried it several times.
I'm using same folder structure as the OP
I did steps 4,5,6 though... Could that be the cause?

I don't think so, maybe a config file is getting in the way, your RA download was fresh? I mean there are more files on it? Sometimes per core generated configs screw things, they are on root, savestates, savefiles.

I deleted whole retroarch directory from previous installation. It was completely fresh

Hello!

Has anyone managed to figure out how to invert the analog axis in Tyrquake? (I want it to look up when I push the stick up)
I have been playing the with retroarch.cfg file as well trying to use a override core config with a TyrQuake.cfg file with no profit.
I saw that I needed to go into the config file and edit the input_player1_r_y_plus_axis = "-3" and input_player1_r_y_minus_axis = "+3" but this isn't working!

I am about to gib here with frustration

Thanks in advance

Not even editing the cfg worked?
I thought that should have done the trick.

Weird, I've manually updated config files before w/out issue:blink:
Maybe the wordpad encoding, idk...

You can set that up only for TyrQuake or does that config apply to all cores after the change?
And the change would be here, right?
Code:
User 1 Right Analog X+ (down) = +3
User 1 Right Analog X+ (up) = -3

Ok I'll try as soon as I'm home. Btw, should I delete the channel? I'm not sure how it works, same as the old wifi forwarders (in that case it doesn't matter)?
You need the Retroarch folder (the one with the Cores and Info folder in) in the root of your SD card if your going to use the Channel. The WiiU/apps folders are not used since the channel loads the Cores from the Cores folder not the apps folder.

Omg!! Thank you so much, it works!! I was about to show all my screenshots and pics of all the settings I fiddled with. I started playing with those bottom User 1 settings, but didnt quite make it to the bottom two...
Mine just reads as a bunch of User 1 N/A.

Thank you guys for helping me out! :toot::gun:
