I'm talking about this: https://www.pokedit.com/store/product.php?id=78

It's pricey, but I'll manage.

EDIT1: 1. I should've mentioned, mine is on 11.5, and I have only one, so it's really not easy to get it modified. My options are really limited. 2. You people work fast. Either that, or sending it to someone else for jailbreaking is a major what-not-to-do with your 3DS.

EDIT2: If you're going to argue over something, DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Unless I have to follow some guide and need clarification, I DO NOT CARE.

I'm asking if it's okay, because I really can't do this myself. I have only one unmodified 3DS, that's on 11.5. From I looked up, it's impossible or next to, to modify it with that version.

I could have been charging for following 3ds.guide on other people's systems? Silly me, using a free service for others and not charging for it.

Please don't support things like this. Heck, stick around Temp for a while, work up 100 posts, and then ask in the sales forum if anybody would do it for you. There are people here that would probably do it for a tenth of that, if not less.

It's safe and he's legit, but he's ripping people off for something you can do for free or cheap.
It's a lot cheaper to buy an old 2DS from any store for 80$ and using that do a DSiWare transfer.

Overpriced, but I must say that page has a nice write-up of what you can do with a hacked system and new users that ask "What can I do with my new system?" could be pointed at it as long as they are warned not to pay that price, just use the info.

I agree with the others, the services he's offering really aren't worth nearly that much lol and you could go on used product sites like Craigslist, Letgo, etc and buy a lower firmware 3ds/2ds for next to nothing. Ive gotten consoles with this method and did all the set up in a tenth of the time. Once you get used to th3 guide, it's pretty easy

It's legit, but very overpriced, and quite sketchy.
Surely, part of the cost is a fee for all of the software they install for you... all the free, open-source software. This is all a legal gray-area in the first place, but charging for free software is scammy and scummy.
Please do anything else.

Also for the record, whoever's running that service can't even get the naming right. Jailbreaking is a completely incorrect term in regards to 3ds.

no jailbreak is a correct definition.
"modify (a smartphone or other electronic device) to remove restrictions imposed by the manufacturer or operator, e.g. to allow the installation of unauthorized software"

Absolutely do not do this. You can buy a second hand 2DS on 11.3 or less, mod it, use it to mod your console, then sell it. It will cost you nothing. Even if you want to keep the 2DS you'll only be out $50 or so.

Even getting a system on 11.5 and having a reputable hardmodder take a crack at it is less expensive.

No, it's correct, it's just not used in the 3ds community.

Not to split hairs, but jailbreaking involves breaking of a jail, and also involves privilege escalation, neither of which are the case with the 3ds.
