Can someone explain to me, as unbiased and detailed as they care to, why are people so bothered about using Luma?
I even saw a comment along the lines of "I wouldn't use Luma if it was the only CFW that existed."

What's wrong with it? Nothing.

What's the problem? Well, somehow it came to be the top dog amidst a nice selection of CFW. When B9S came out, Luma was the first to work with it. AFAIK it's the only one that does work on B9S. I could be wrong. Haven't been paying too much attention.

I honestly see nothing wrong with the CFW itself. Just an ungrateful community pointing fingers at the wrong people.

Not everyone wants to use the Luma3DS and then started the "Just use Luma" mantra that spread through the community. As it spread users started attacking other projects and pushing more devs away from the scene. Now it's impossible to say anything negative about Luma3DS without being attacked until you either stop or leave the scene.

That's pretty much it. I mean, when Rosalina (the assistant in Luma) came out.. It introduced a slew of bugs.. Which was to be expected. It varies from person to person.. But if you look at some of the CFW debates.. It boils down to "just use luma"... Dunno.

Like I said, it's more so the people.

90% of those were fixed in 8.1 and the last 10% were (hopefully) squashed in 8.1.1

Now this is an opinion, but the amount of features is overwhelming with very little choice in the matter. Although my personal reason is the community around Luma3DS going out of their way to attack other projects. The community has basically use Luma3DS as their reason to kill every other project and prevent any future project from being released.

First of all, I really don't think "too many features" is a valid argument. You can hardly expect a new CFW to be released that purposely has less features. It's a silly complaint, imo.
Secondly, a few bad apples defending a product doesn't mean you shouldn't use the product. Just seems illogical to me.
Finally, my original question still remains, why should Luma not be the primary CFW? You've pussy footed around my question.

The thing is, every public CFW has had drama at some point.

It just seems to be a common trend with 3ds cfws but because Luma has been at the top for so long, it seems to be getting the most hate when in reality, nearly each 'cfw' has received hate and has had people feeling the need to say "use X because it's better than Y", the people being like "This is popular so I need to use something different, just so I can show how unique I am" & the people acting like they're special with their private cfw when in reality it's just a fork of a public cfw with a few edits.

To answer the OPs question, some people feel that they should have a choice in what features they want to enable in Luma. Though as said here, the cfw is about simplicity & these 'extra features' don't even affect people who don't use them.

You are free to do as you please with your CFW, but I am still free to disagree with how it is handled.
