Homebrew Question about using freakyhax

Hello everyone!

I unfortunately updated my New 3DS XL a couple of months ago to 11.4 and didn't realize that Soundhax got patched (dumb I know)
Recently, I started reading this, and I want to know if I could follow the whole guide, but using freakyhax instead of soundhax.
I assume I could, but I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking here.

So you have no way to get b9s, unless you want hardmodmor to use the dsiware thing

Seeing as how the otherapp payload is the same, and it'll launch the same files, then I think you should be able to do so. However, I am not 100% sure so take my opinion with a grain of salt

According to this page of the guide, Freakyhax only works on system versions from 9.0 to 11.3. The only entrypoints that work on 11.4 are oot3dhax and ninjhax.

At any rate, there is currently no way to install b9s from 11.4 other than via hardmod or ntrboothax.

Yeah, that's what I looked at, but if the guide says it doesn't, then I'm not sure. You could try though, since the worst that can happen is that it doesn't load and crashes once and you move on

There is currently no kernel expoits for the 11.4 or 11.5 stock firmware. You can use userland homebrew which is what you got with freakyhax. But your looking at hardmod. dsiware transfer or waiting until the ntrboothax comes out before getting a cfw on any 11.4 or 11.5 systems

Well, if you have access to a copy of Freakyforms you're welcome to try. However, even if it did work, you wouldn't be able to use it to install b9s from 11.4.

You would be able to, but being on 11.4, you wouldn't be able to follow the whole guide. You would only have access to the homebrew channel itself and userland homebrew.

If you have another console that already has CFW and can use that, then yeah. oothax is a secondary exploit

If you do not need to use the installer and have the savefile on hand or can get it, then yes, OOT can be used for userland homebrew for your system. The installer itself will not work on 11.4

You can use various alternative entrypoints, such as oot3dhax, to get access to the Homebrew Launcher on 11.4 on a N3DS. However, that cannot be used to install CFW. Don't confuse the two. You only have three ways to install CFW on 11.4:

• Hardmod method (requires soldering)
• DSiWare method (requires a second 3DS that already has CFW)
• ntrboothax method (not released yet)
