For those who aren't aware of this, someone is already translating this game (Ao no Kiseki) and at a very remarkable pace at that.

So there may still be hope if you guys try and contact with him regarding about this project of yours.

Here's the site: http://gurennoheyakara.blogspot.nl/p/games.html?m=1
He is already in contact with the new Zero translators. I think they will release their patch in a few years at most.

Hey how hard would it be to make use of another translator? Google Translate is very nonsensical in the majority of situations, but I find that Excite Translator is actually relatively readable in far more cases than Google Translate. http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english_japanese/

I was translating the prologue with this from the Japanese and you can actually follow it via the translation, whereas the Google translated ones barely make any sense. I think Excite would be far more useful for trying to understand NPC text and whatnot used in conjunction with the spreadsheet. It's just a question of if your scripts could work with it.

Is there a way to integrate the english text from the PC's Trails in the Sky 3rd to the japanese PSP version?
Yes, just decompile the script, insert text, recompile script. Of course, you have to reverse engineer the script format.
I think Falcom did some changes to the code in FC/SC PSP, so it may not be possible to put four lines in a textbox.

I think it's possible, but it's also possible that they might block me for using their service too much. I can't find any documentation of limits.
I was actually thinking of releasing ATLAS (I use this one personally) and LEC versions of the machine translation. Both of those are offline translators which Translation Aggregator supports, so I could whip up scripts quickly by looking at the source code of TA.

Those translations are better?, if so please do release them.

Many thanks in advance,

Ok. How can i do that? Do you have a tool for decompile and recompile the script? I think the PC and PSP version file structure is different, so we need 2 tools to insert the text from PC version to the PSP version. Is it help if i upload sample PSP and PC files for you?

I already have the PC and PSP versions of both games.
I might take a crack at that after I finish up with Ao no Kiseki.

My hero! Mix this with a potential ATLAS machine TL and that's a pretty fair rough translation patch if I've ever seen one!

On another note, this patch for the PSP is floating around:

It adds the Evolution voices to the PSP version, but more importantly, items, orbments, s-crafts, arts, and probably more stuff like that are all translated into good english. I don't know where the translation came from, but it seems to be pretty complete.

Keep it on Simplified Chinese where it is. You just need to replace the font file to any truetype font you want on your computer. I assume the font is just trying to line up like Chinese characters which would account for those issues. So just type "fonts" in your start menu and choose any font you want from there. I chose Arial in those screenshots just as a test, but I probably won't use that in the end. Copy whichever you want into your root folder where the exe is and rename it to user.ft, replacing the one that was there previously. Based on what I see in your screenshots, it should display fine after that.

can we use this PSP version and apply the Machine TL scenario text? (so we can play most in English)

This would be possible. Just follow the instruction to apply the files with the tools provided for both voice and text. Remember to back up.
