It is funny how current 3rd party AAA games 'do not matter' on Nintendo platforms according to hardcore Nintendo fans, yet a 6 (almost 7 now) years old multiplat (yet not on Nintendo at the time), played-to-the-absolute-death game (Skyrim) gets released on the Switch everyone and their grandmothers wet their pants. 3rd party games DO play a big role on console sales. Deal with it. You are proving it by hyping Skyrim up. Imagine the hype if all current AAA titles could be played on the Switch. Yeah, i know, it is not that easy to port right now (do not let me go into 'i told you so' mode, which many people went, logically, after the specs were revealed), all i am trying to say is Nintendo would be more relevant if they made a home console that could have these titles too. I know some people prefer the portability. Myself, i prefer a large game library, even if i have to sacrifice portability. Perhaps they could have both by not unifying their portable & home divisions. Well, let's hope they pull rabbits out of their asses later on cause this is really their last trick up their sleeve as far as promoting the Switch to the industry goes.

I am prepared to be disappointed, so anything above average will be good. Just hope in first party goodness, please no 1000s of indies. I can play all these on pretty much anything, including my toaster, little reason to buy a £280 machine for that. Bring on the big guns! Can't see why they couldn't now that they merged the development pools... HURRY UP!!!
This.

Also, people calling me a hater despite owning almost every nintendo console and being a nintendo fan since i was a child... This guys cant recognize when their precious ninty makes mistakes smh.

Where did you get that notion from? The console just came out with a few launch titles. a bunch of games are coming out for the Switch now, especially indy games.

Well, the lack of any game announced since the start of the year is a pretty good indication, isn't it? Devs have the inside info way before the public, so it is not like they need to wait for a launch to find out what a console can/can't do. Not including the Switch in any of the announced (big) games so far this year shows 2 things, that either they do not want to invest on the Switch but that porting the games is possible, or that they want to invest but it is not possible to port. If it was the first, some games would actually come through, as not everybody has the same idea of investing. My guess is the second. The notion that EA is checking adoption of their software on the Switch by FIFA sales, is worrying. EA is a big shitbag, yet they are one of the biggest companies. If fifa does not sell well, more games might not come. Capcom is doing the same with Street Fighter.

These are not good news, these 2 games are very far from 'proper' new games for the Switch to gauge engagement. Hopefully, today's show will change all this uncertainty and show some solid support coming.

FIFA 2013 in the worst console for Ninti. Yeah, you dont know man.
No? Considering the wii u was still new? Even with first party stuff released on it? Let's moven on to the wii then... let's see... oh, fifa games there sold pretty bad in the us (and rest of america), horrible i would say, europe just kept it "alive" but still its total sales are bad compared to the ps3/360.

List me two games. By the way, Fallout 4 is LIKELY gonna come out on the Switch. It isn't a very hardware intensive game. I can launch it on a Celeron B830 and its integrated graphics.

Yesterday's announced Assassins Creed and Far Cry 5. First ones that came to my mind. You can say it might be possible to bring them over, yet the amount of work to dumb them down might not bring back the investment. Which is why MS and Sony went with x86 architectures in the first place. Studios have tightened budgets unfortunately. Architectures these days are no longer about performance or even price, but rather, inclusion.

Lol have you play a FIFA in Wii? Its complete trash, that shows that you dont know anything about Ninti. Now that they are giving us a real FIFA (and NBA2K) then is a fair comparison. And the Wii u being new... there are more Switch overall now, what do you expected.

CPU architecture is irrelevant here, unless for some reason you think games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry are written in assembly language. (Spoiler: They aren't.)

You call me i'm ignorant, i show you proof of the same game selling poorly on past nintendo consoles and yet you still expect fifa 18 to sell better than it did on past consoles? ugh...

Not entirely. It could be irrelevant, but i do not know if there are tools to recompile across the hardware gap. If there are, cool, this means more games coming up. If there isn't though, it means more work porting them over, rather than targeting another environment. I know they are not written in assembly, i am a developer myself and i understand the challenges and decisions, but you cannot deny that 3 consoles that share the same architecture are easier to port between. Unless tools exist as i said, a console developer working on both or having knowledge of both might be able to give us more insight.

Cpu architecture is not the only thing affected, so being in assembly or not is not the case here. We are talking about the complete toolkit, you cannot simply 'repoint' a developers kit that is based on an entirely different architecture on a complete project and simply hack you way to a port. Sharing the architecture brings the toolkits closer. Again, i am not a console developer, so one of them could kick in and let us know, but it is surely more difficult and more expensive to bring them over to another platform.

Yeah calling FIFA 13 and 18 the same game just cause they are FIFAs, kinda ignorant. Circumstance matters.

The Switch game is "pay Nintendo again to play" exclusives when Nintendo release any and (possibly) portable, technically inferior ports of third party games (which are definitive on either PS4/XBOX/PC).

The PS4 has games, doesn't give a s*** and Switch's thunder... whatever. Nothing was stolen.

Nope, BOTW is precisely 900p. and I don't remember BOTW being released on PS4. But since the PS4 and XB1 are counterfeited PCs, why play the knockoff when you can play the real experience on PC?
It isnt. It was confirmed that it drops the resolution to 800 and something on docked mode and to 600 (or wast it 500?) and something on undocked mode to keep the frame rate as close to 30.
