Look at the guide that was linked. It was the way to install CFW when 11.0-11.2 were current. But now that all we need is NAND access it is back :-)

Its a easy process as I done it with my stock 11.4 N3ds. It also is a fairly quick process. The only thing you will need to worry of is either waiting out the 7 day transfer wait. or calling ninty to get the transfer time removed

You can use a lot of DSi games on the eShop and inject and exploitable game into them, they'll still be legit.

I do have a friend with a hacked 3ds with CFW, not sure how the whole "transferring the hack" thing works.

You and your friend take a look at this 3ds.guide If your friend helps you and you give him the 2 dollars for a comptabils dsiware game you should get cfw up and running.

I was referring to someone hacking it for him/her bc obviously he/she is looking for help and probably doesn't feel comfortable doing the ds method him/herself. I was thinking hardmod in my head but forgot to mention that. Please don't be rude as I was making a suggestion. BTW, I did read the whole thread before posting. Homebrew doesn't affect anything. You need Stock Firmware, which you have. He needs Custom Firmware, which he has

it depends, do you have any downloaded games? How DSi transfer works is that he moves all of his account info (Including the special DSi game) to your 3ds, overwriting the contents of your 3ds. However, you can put your nintendo account back on your 3ds and then redownload anything you loss

Whenever you transfer all your NNIDs transfer too. So if the source and target have NNIDs they have to choose who loses theirs (they'll both get stuck together).

you will need to go through the process of hacking his 3ds if it is on 11.3. Then wants it's hacked, you can hack your own

Got a question which relates to this thread, my niece has a n3ds XL but I'm not currently sure which fw it's on.
I have 3 systems(n3ds XL, which are on 11.3 luma 6.6 on a9lh, so I'm set should her n3ds XL be on 11.4
The guide mentions the nnid on a few occasions, is it ok for both systems not to have a nnid attached? I didn't create one for my niece nor do I have one on the o3ds XL or 2ds
Also can I use the o3ds XL or 2ds to do the transfer to the n3ds XL or would I have e to use my N3DS xl(which I don't want to do if I don't have to)?

if you didn't have an idea. you should be fine

Edit: yes, a 2ds can transfer to a n3ds but not vice versa
