Hacking Boot9Strap vs a9LH and some other questions

OK, went this morning to see is there any update to Luma3DS and boom, it says it now works only with b9s.
Never heard of it, so can someone explain what's the differnce between b9s and a9LH?
I presume b9s is much easier to install on a non hacked device or is it?
Is there any minuses compared to a9LH?

Is this the right guide for converting a9lh to b9s ?

I have 2 N3DS XLs, one is completely legit with a lots of games and saves.
I also have one with latest a9LH and Luma3DS v7.05, sysnand, no emunand.
Both of my N3DSs are at 11.2.0-35E.

My question is, can I only update a9lh to b9s using the guide for which I put the link (do I need to update my sysnad to 11.4?)?
And can I also mod my legit N3DS without loosing anything from it including my NNID, saves and all the eshop games and themes (do I need to update FW or is the 11.2 OK for modding?) ?
I have cubic ninja, older version of ZeldaOT and Super smash bros, so no vory there

I might actually be making a noob friendly thread though because apparently there's a demand for that.
Basically boot9strap is a deeper exploit that allows CFWs and homebrews to exploit at an even earlier point in the 3DS boot cycle. There's other benefits, those mostly benefit devs.

I'm going to go ahead and install it now. Just as simple as updating A9LH and yes, apparently you need to if you ever want to use an updated Luma. No reason to "vent" if you installed A9LH, you can install Boot9Strap.

OK, now I know what the b9s is, and also I know how to update from a9LH to b9s thanks to 3DS guide.
So can you please tell me can I mod my legit N3DS without loosing anything?
And if I understood correctyl, I first need to do a9lh mod and the update it to b9s...or do I?

EDIT: I read the guide, and man this is way more simpler than the first time I did the a9lh which took me 4-6h, can't remember...

Of course I am speaking about going from legit 3ds to b9s, and not just updating a9lh to b9s.

From what I've read, very small.

3 seconds difference. A9LH was 12 seconds from a cold boot and B9S was 9 seconds.

No, not to much of a difference but Luma isn't supporting A9LH from this point on so you'll need to update to B9S or SigHax if you want Luma updates.
