I have an O3DS running 11.2 and it runs Homebrew Launcher through soundhax no problem. I want to run the ZXDS emulator on it. Do I need to install CFW to run this or do I need a flashcart like an R4? Cheers
You will either need a DS flashcart, or this 3DS app to run DS homebrew. Flashcart is the better option for sure if you can get one, much better compatibility.

slight conflict in info...? can the ds bootstrap thing handle ds homebrew or not? at least some, I could understand some since support is a bit iffy with it right now for offical games as isZXDS is Nintendo DS homebrew, so yes. As of right now you will require a Nintendo DS flashcart.
DS Bootstrap DOES support homebrew, I just don't know for sure if it will run this particular one. I've never tried.slight conflict in info...? can the ds bootstrap thing handle ds homebrew or not? at least some, I could understand some since support is a bit iffy with it right now for offical games as is
never knew, I guess I'll try, been a while since I've checked so I wonder if they've updated the bootstrap and stuff and got it working a little better, what is zxds anyway?DS Bootstrap DOES support homebrew, I just don't know for sure if it will run this particular one. I've never tried.

depends on how high priority you see ds homebrew if it's worth it@jt_1258 Everything is still really iffy with that. My advice is to buy a flashcart.
The flashcart also runs DS games and homebrew PERFECTLY, has built in cheats, AND working save states. Totally worth it, imo.depends on how high priority you see ds homebrew if it's worth it
Absolutely agree. The flashcart also runs DS games and homebrew PERFECTLY, has built in cheats, AND working save states. Totally worth it, imo.

sadly one of the tabs in my ds light got bent due to children shoving things where they don't belong -.- but yes, it was nice but not high enough priority for me to spend the money, I know there cheap but stillAbsolutely agree.
The Nintendo DS was a brilliant little system.
I adore it.
For me it's compulsive by now.sadly one of the tabs in my ds light got bent due to children shoving things where they don't belong -.- but yes, it was nice but not high enough priority for me to spend the money, I know there cheap but still
I'm trying to save for a switch, granted, waying how much I could get, a new up to date system and some games or the ability to pirate every ds game ever then the switch a bit later, pros and cons to this :/ I still want the switch more *sigh*For me it's compulsive by now.
Gotta own everything.
Gotta have it.
Make it look neat and tidy.
Neat and tidy...
Everything in its place...
A good flashcart is like $20, shipping included. Switch is like $300 plus games. First one has over 1,700 titles per region, the second has like two titles worth half a damn. Easy choice, imo, and I own both.I'm trying to save for a switch, granted, waying how much I could get, a new up to date system and some games or the ability to pirate every ds game ever then the switch a bit later, pros and cons to this :/ I still want the switch more *sigh*
Might I suggest this one? Thanks for all the quick replies. Think that settles it I need an R4.
