Welp as some hackers may chose other ways to get money for their hacks (aka Nintendo Bounty Program) I thought it would be great to do a community bounty on a Nintendo Switch Homebrew to convince them to release it to the public instead of to Nintendo.
You place the amount down here you want to pay once someone succesfully hacks it, and after it's hacked everyone can send the money to the "hacker" their PayPal.
Money will only be donated once the hack is proven to be working and open to everyone.
I will put down $10 for a working Homebrew (entrypoint)

Participants:
svensonic1 $10
dinoson631 $15
The Real Jdbye $10
Oleboy555 $5
Joneidy $150
Total $190

(the higher the total bounty the more chance we have on success :))

Accepting payment for a hack makes it a criminal offense and not a civil offense, at least in the u.k. All depends on where in the world you live I suppose

Basically it's the difference between a couple of grand fine max or a few years inside over here.

I wouldn't have thought GBAtemp would allow someone to offer money for a console exploit either tbh being as it's considered a criminal offense but I could be wrong.

I can make a PayPal account but I dont want to as I can't have the risk holding the money :3..
We can just place our donation amounts here and once someone hacks (and makes it public and it works) it I'll post their paypal on here so everyone can donate.

Bounties are allowed, on another forum there are also bounties ongoing for example Samsung Knox Reset.

If it's considered a donation its diffrent. People can't pay others (depending on circumstances.) To hack a console. (At least on here.)

However you can donate money to people in order to "help them"

Edit: Also it has to be a legal donation to, not ones for making weapons out of the console for illegal services (although I hardly think that would ever happen.)

Flashcart makers is probably one of the answers for hacking this, people would definitely have to pay for their hacking services.
It would definitely take a while.

People are going to need to donate a lot more than $5 or $10 to expect anyone to release any hack(s) for the Switch. Anyone that can achieve homebrew for the Switch deserves $1000+

Ok, that's just ridiculous

If someone told you that they could hack the Switch in order to achieve homebrew on it and release it, you don't think that's worth $1000?

Do you think Nintendo is paying people $100 to patch a bug that would result in Homebrew for the Switch?

No not really
Really? You should look at the root/unlock bounty threads of some phones..
Yeah, but that is different from consoles because more people own phones.

Uhhhhhh.... Um... With the thousands of different phones, do you really think the number is that much greater?

You don't deserve homebrew for the Switch with that thinking. The countless hours of work that goes into hacking a console and you think it's worth the price of $100

This thread is meaningless anyways. This thread will never contribute to the success of homebrew on the Switch. When it happens, it'll be the result of hard work and the decision of the person to release it which won't be for a long while.
