Hi there i have a biiiiiiiig problem, i was hacking my new 3ds xl 11.0.0.33 EUR and while doing the guide i finished creating nandbackup and downgraded to 2.1 soft all good but once i got to the next step "Create a folder named cias on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist" on https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax page my sd card 64gb sandisk formatted to FAT32 just died? i created folder "cias" when i did enter the folder i saw some strange folders / files named with random symbols and numbers (i think) after that i tried to delete the folder but nothing happened, tried to insert the card again, it said that it needs to format the card first, tried another card reader same thing... i think that the sd card may be corrupted ;/. I managed to backup the nand file before creating the folder but now im not sure what to do next, don't know if the backup is good or the file was corrupted because the sd card is acting weird. Can i go with the installation after formating?

If it's corrupted, there's no way of really fixing that. You can format it and lose all of your data though. You just have to ctrnand transfer back up to 11.4.

So what i should do now? i'm currently on 2.1 soft have a nand backup but that's all i had from the sd card pulled before it died what should i do next? how to get ctrnand up at 2.1

PS.
I have another new 3ds xl hacked with luma CFW and ALH9, can i just format the card and somehow use it to create file system and continue with the hacks?

Also you'll need to use a new SD card. When they start doing that and formatting or deleting files doesn't do anything then the flash in it is dead.

probably just have to do a ctrtransfer, I'm sure someone will pull up a link, but avoid using anything from that sd card feel free to try recover stuff, but unless you know for sure the sd card is genuine there is a chance anything on there is just garbage data even if you "recover" it

did you verify the sd before starting using h2testw or whatever, AFAIK this is one of the first steps in the guide and one people seem to love to skip

You'll lose your games and saves, but that's about it. Just follow the instructions as normal after formatting the sd card to fat32.

The OP said he still has a nand backup

no i don't know how i missed this (sd card check) at the top of the picking of 3ds model :< how do i do a ctrtransfer from 2.1 soft? Does it means i need to recover the nandbackup with ctrtransfer? Is it safe, cant be sure if the file i backed up to my computer is good now ;/

If you have a nand backup you're fine. If you dont, do a ctrnand transfer to 9.2 once a9lh is installed. Either way you lose your game data

It's a fresh 3ds out of the box, no data there started do guide after first launch. So if i'm reading it right i can just go on with the installation? Is the nand backup required in any later step of the guide?

You need to restore the nand to make life easier. If you lost it, you have to just do this instead: https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer.html
