How many main folders do you have and what position is your mame folder. I had similar problems. I uploaded 4 mame games. Then synced just them and the 30 and it worked. Then when I add them in with all my games and made a mame folder for them 1 of the 4 games wouldn't work. Tried making another main mame folder with 2 games in one and 2 in the other. Synced again and same thing still the 1 out of 4 wouldn't work. Then combined them in same folder again and made the mame folder sync 2nd instead of 6th and it fixed my problem. I also deleted a gameboy advance game but I don't think I needed to. So try moving your mame folder to sync like first.

Last night when I was syncing, the folder structure remained the same as it always has. When I synced last night all the folders were there, there just wasn't any games in them. I just synced the two neo geo games and I had them in the S-Z folder. Now after adding all my other games like you did, I'm getting this error. I deleted some games and am now syncing again. If I can remember correctly, I think my 'mame' folder (Which I have it named Arcade in the folder menu) syncs right after the original 30 if that makes sense.

Ya what I do is a little different. I copy and paste my whole hakchi folder. Then in that second folder I change it from custom to no folders and 35 a folder. Then sync the 30 and the few I wanna see that work. Then if it does. I go back and change no folders to custom and it has my folder structure again then I add in the game and sync and go delete old hakchi folder and make this my main one now. I do that every time I'm testing or making changes. Cause if I have to delete games to fit 1 but can't get it to work then I want the other games back on that's why I leave a copied folder ready so that I can just go into that one and resync my setup. But I think you should have at least 2 main mame folders. Ideal or not. Might have to sync one first and one last. It needs to be split up good to sync right. You know it works cause you sync and tested now it's trying to fit it. It may fit but still not sync right even Tho it synced without errors. Hakchi knows how to split up nes games in chunks great but it has problems with these other games that are bigger. In my opinion It doesn't know when to stop sometimes and start the next sequence. I think it believes it can fit the next game so it starts it but then it's too big and all the sudden has to stop. It's annoying having to outsmart it. I bet if you didn't have any main folders and just allowed all games to be together and just synced it 30 a folder everything would work.

I went and deleted one game out of folder that caused the crash and the C8 error. Synced again and all is good.

I can't help but sign up and join the fun! I just got my nes mini few days ago and already loaded up with my favorite nes, snes and neogeo games.

Though what's weird is that I'm using different 3 hmods for my 3 neogeo games! lol I can't get them to work on different configurations. Should we see better emulation on mame2003 as compared to mame2000?
- king of fighters 95 -> mame2000
- metal slug -> mame2003
- samurai showdown 2 -> mame2003_mini+bios

Anyway my setup works just fine now but it seems like the mame2000 screen a little bit squeezed maybe just me.

Thanks guys for all the effort. Next stop is to have marvel super heroes, children of the atom and darkstalkers to work!

(developer here: would like to add search or tree like folders in hakchi -- just an idea haven't seen the code =)

Sorry if this has already been covered. But how do you upload SNES Rom's onto the NES Mini using the hakchi2 program. Is it the same as NES Rom's? I've got new NES games added to my mini. Just wondering what is needed for SNES games?

Yes they are the same as dragging the nes game roms to the list. You will just need to install modules like snes9x2010 and retroarch.

You can follow nes mini mods videos at youtube, they probably already covered most (if not all) discussions here in the forums.

Great, thank you. I'll give it a go

This is new......Just played for about an hour or so. No problems. Went into a folder...screen goes to black. No error message nothing. Hit the power button screen says SHUTTING DOWN... like it always does.

Go to turn it back on. Black screen. Interesting.

Anyone able to get the atari800 to work? I am helping a friend and she is dead set on playing Mr robot and his robot factory.

Does Stella support atari800 or is it a different core? If it is a different core do I need a Bios file for it too?

thanks to all of you for being so helpful.

Does RetroArch's browse function auto-hide unsupported format?
If no, then there may be a fatal issue of importing compressed files by hakchi2 - I doubt if it missed copying everything inside the ROM zip file into the NES mini.
- For mame2003 ROMs, the RetroArch file browser can't display any content inside the ROM zip file, and recognizes it as a blank ROM file, which makes the game unable to play, even it's supported according to the gamelist!
- For DOSBOX ROMs, the RetroArch file browser can ONLY displays EXE files inside the ROM zip file & the DOSBOX core reported "Can't find <required non-EXE> file!" on executing EXE.

OK.
dino.zip is really unsupported.
MAME2003 compatible list should be updated.
Then what's the problem with dosbox?

This may have been why my NES went black screen last night. Was playing dino.zip (using mame2003.hmod) for about 20 minutes, then the music starting to get really weird and out of sync. I quit the game, went into a new folder and the screen went black with no error (C8 etc.) I've deleted that game within hakchi and am now resyncing the console.

It's weird that dino.zip used to work on your NES mini.
It never worked on mine.
Neither of mame2003, mame2003_mini, fb_alpha.

Put in an issue on GitHub. One member replied that a reflashing worked. Cluster suggested the same thing. That's what I did and back to normal.
In case it ever happens to you. (Black Screen with no error.)

Yes it worked for like 30 minutes, but then the music started to get glitchy. Game play was good.
