That's what I meant, that itself works perfectly fine, it's just without libfat, some SD cards' read speed is slow as hell. But I tested it and it was stable.
Ah I see.
So it's only Haxchi (HBL) with CFW that makes it fail?
One more thing, what are you using as a CFW?
Are you using a fw.img alongside CFW booter, sigpatcher by Dimok, or Mocha as the FW?
I think that might help narrow it down even more.

It's whatever the one built into the most recent Haxchi is, I don't remember what it was called, but it's included in Haxchi and you get it by holding down B. *Shrug* I've been out of the loop. I don't think it really needs FW images anymore. You don't remember what it was, do you? I think it might be Mocha built in?

It should be an app inside the /wiiu/apps/ folder in some way.
Could you check what's in the config.txt file for Haxchi?
That might help to know which app it is running when pressing B.

Isn't Mocha built into it now? I know we don't need an app per se, but that it's part of Haxchi?

Says in the OP that fw.img isn't even needed unless you use RedNAND or WupServer, I thought? I don't even know anymore :unsure:

Maybe I need to ask Fix94 what it actually does, I can't find anything in OP on what CFW it uses.

All my config for it says is:

a=fw.img
b=sysmenu
default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf

That tells me nothing. But again, RA uses RPX, HBL uses ELF, there's a conflict.

Yeah that would be the best way to do so.
Fix94 might help to know what is the exact kind of CFW that Haxchi is using by default.
That way we should know exactly what it is and maybe why it breaks RPX compatibility when entering Haxchi again from that CFW.

So far, Haxchi only supports loading HBL in ELF format, why RPX isn't supported is anyone's guess. @FIX94 would know what's going on. I'd install the 2.1 channel but I'm wary on doing so, or why older versions of RA, using RPX, loaded fine.

Got a few problems with snes9x 2010 and nestopia. both emulators crash the wiiU when I try to open them in the homebrew launcher. everything else seems fine, it's the emulators that seem to have a problem.

Why use Snes9x2010 when normal Snes9x is superior?

As for snes9x 2010, I would just use the regular snes9x as it is the most up to date one and still is fullspeed

Ok, so I take it from the ongoing convo here the way to go installing the latest up to date configuration would be HBL+Haxchi+RA1.50....Amiright?
Can someone please verify? I just want to play CPS3 games.
Also where to get the current Haxchi?
Please and thanks.

the rpx VERSION of hbl is not required to LOAD other rpx files. also the rpx VERSION is only needed for a channel format, but haxchi loads using the browser exploit that can only load the elf VERSION anyways, the elf VERSION is also compatible with LOADING rpx files which is all you want anyways. Also haxchi with holding B loads the CBHC CFW which has all the patches and fast device support etc. no need for mocha at all.

Okay, that's the information I needed, I can let Aliaspider know on GitHub, and why RA 1.5.0 conflicts with Haxchi CFW and so on, thanks :P

also if you really want to load the hbl rpx VERSION you can after loading haxchi with holding down B, since that did not load the .elf version but just the patched system menu instead you can then just start the hbl channel just fine, the only incompatibility is trying to load the .elf version and then the channel version of the hbl.

Okay, so I:

- Load Haxchi CFW, then Haxchi itself
- Install RPX channel version of HBL with WupInstaller Y Mod
- Reset console, load Haxchi again, hold B
- Then load HBL channel

Hope I got that right. I'm testing and eliminating variables to see why Haxchi plus CFW is crashing RetroArch 1.5.0 after loading it more than once. I can't figure out any other way to install the HBL channel.

that sounds about right yea.

okay I got snes9x (and fceumm_libretro) but now I got another problem, neither emulator can find the roms I got on the SD card.

Edit: Okay got it working now, just needed to get the cores and now everything works flawlessly!

Standalone Snes9x does, not the 2010 variant.
Ok thanks for that man.
Could you please tell me what I would need to get everything running properly? I'll be doing the first time hack on my WiiU tonight.
From what I gather, all that I would need besides the roms is:
HBL
Haxchi
Retroarch
I'm not really interested in Custom Firmwares yet. Could somebody just verify with a yes or no to my query?

Yeah the list you provided seems alright.
That's how I have my Wii U setup.
Haxchi with HBL autoboot and RetroArch in /wiiu/apps.

As for the MSU-1 setup.
YOu need to have a folder with the ROM patched with MSU-1 support inside, and the .msu/.pcm files inside as well.
The .msu/.pcm files must have the same name as the ROM you are using (excluding the per-track numerals of course).
