Who set up the official wiki compatibility lists for USB Loader GX, Loadiine and so on?
Was that you, Cyan?
If yes (or anyone else) couldn't you create a compatibility list for RetroArch?
It would really help to see which games work and which don't.
Which games need which settings and especially which games run best with which core.
Should me multiple tables separated by system like it's the case for injections as far as I remember.
Also the list should be linked in the first post. Since you're a mod you could just do it as the first post doesn't offer much information for beginners at all which sucks. I had to find out almost everything by myself, reading multiple pages here and watching multiple YouTube videos.
Of course I would provide to the wiki once it's up.

If there's a system where almost every game is running (like SNES I guess?) it should be enough to write that under the SNES section and list only the few games that have issues.

But for other systems, especially all Arcade/MAME related stuff, which is the most complicated, the worst documentated and most interesting (because of real gems in graphics and gameplay) would be really important to be listed in the wiki.

Lol. The compatibility would change with every build of retroarch and there's 100,000's of different games. You go ahead and start one

As I said it's especially for Arcade Machine games.
Thousands of games from systems like SNES, GBA or SEGA don't need to be listed each as I wrote.
And sure there are different versions. That's why a column for the RetroArch version would be needed as well as it was for the Loadiine version back then.

As has already been said there is close to 100000 Arcade roms if not more and compatibility will change every time the retroarch Arcade emus get a nightly update what your asking is impossible to do. It would take months just to try every rom with just one version of the Arcade emus by which time the guide would hugely be out of date due to many revisions bring done to the emus that came out after the version made for your list.

Alright, alright. All I wanted was to bring a little light into RetroArch's darkness.
Even without a compatibility list there's no real guide about anything for beginners right now.

Has anyone tested the latest nightly builds to see if they still crash after loading them more then once?

That's can be complicated though as if people start testing using different rom sets. Would be jumbled imho, unless everyone was actually using the correct rom sets for each core. Just a lot of work and expectation imho.

If you really wanted to do a comapitility list you could just limit it to the big arcade publishers like Sega, Midway, Cave, Capcom etc. since those are mostly the only games the average person is going to care if they're running or not. Someone did this for RetroArch Wii and it was a big help for me back then.

Just put a notice at the beginning of the ROM set FBA or MAME needs.

It's not like you would be doing these roms one by one. These romsets are old and not on those rom sites for the most part, usually have to Google search for a torrent or mega on them specifically. So I dunno what the compatible list will really help with now, as we will still get the people chiming in here direct or on the git hub about games that don't work.

There is a huge website that has an archive of every ROM set, along with an archive of websites, films, images, etc. ;)

So contradict me to say my point isn't valid, or to say "hey I am cool guys!" As most if you pay any attention in here, all tend to use the torrents so relevance is key.

Aren't torrents highly likely to contain malware?

Edit: After testing some things by Aliaspider's advice, CFW + with Haxchi seems to completely break RA 1.5.0. This..will make it slow XD

@ShadowOne333 Can you confirm this? Running 1.5.0 stable with Haxchi, but no CFW?

Edit 2: Well, he just tested Mocha, seems to work fine, I don't know what the hell is going on.

There is an archive place that is well trusted that hosts a bunch of MAME torrents. So they are perfectly safe if you get them from there.

I didn't get notified. Maybe because the tag came after the post was made.

I haven't touched any nightly builds of RetroArch at all, so I can't tell right now. (Also I'm not home at the moment haha)

LOL! I never thought they would have it as their DOS games collection is full of shareware. Thanks for the tiny hint. :D
