Can someone post a compiled core for GBA that runs better than the one included? Like gpsp or mgba? It would be awesome to play GBA games too, the default core is unplayable...

Okej so I have a question. In folders manager, if I create one folder and drop all the games in that folder, will I be able to add more than 100 games? Or do I still need to split them up with several folders?

Does anyone know how to get Famicom Disk System games working through Retroarch? I tried putting the disksys.rom BIOS in the Retroarch.hmod archive, and then flashing the NES Mini. I then set the directory for the BIOS in Retroarch to be /etc/libretro/bios, but .fds games still crash, whether loaded from within Retroarch or from the NES Mini's menu. Whenever I try to load, for example, SMB: The Lost Levels, it just sends me back to the NES Mini's menu, rather than loading the game. Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to change it to glupen64. Runs way better now. Decent performance :) thank you again!
Did you have to download the glupen64 core and put it in a folder or what.

the music in this game is crazy good [adventure isl ]but actually all of those games have great soundtracks
The soundtrack for Adventure Island was done by Yuzo Kashiro who also did the soundtracks for Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, Actraiser and Ys to name a few.

- Game Genie database (thanks to Nhakin!), hakchi2 already contains database with many GG codes and you can import more from Nestopia.

If anyone is interested, here's the Nestopia chest code pack I posted to Github when I made my menu request: http://www.mediafire.com/file/eaq1a5cpkk9py22/

Would be awesome to get .cht files supported as well down the road. Thanks again Cluster and all involved! Amazing job!

Here is my home screen... I quite like the look of it... and I used the same folder image for each sub folder as well... This was done through the hakchi2 interface...

homescreen_zpssatiwbfu.jpg

Can you please provide a link for those images? I found my own from Google but these look excellent. I hope there's Game Boy & Game Boy Color images too.
Somebody should make a pack of nice and matching folder images for all those consoles!

So I dropped all nes roms in one custom folder and games didn't work. That means I have to split up the games in several folders

No.

Some games run like crap on the NESCE emulator, with glitches and stuff. And because it runs on the NESCE emulator, it automatically bypasses Retroarch. By me adding the command line, I can choose the individual games who's performance would be best off running in Retroarch.

(I just figured out that I can use the global command line setting and just add "--retroarch" to ALL games, bypassing the NESCE emulator entirely and solely using the better Retroarch emulator, while maintaining the use of the default NESCE GUI.)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
