Everything was fine until one month or so later after purchase the backplate started to feel loose. My O3DS Xl had a similar issue on the right side, but it was very isolated so it dint bother that much unless i pressed my hand on that spot. On my N3DS Xl, it is way wider so it is almost impossible to play without feeling the console crackling or something like that.

The circle pad also feels like slugish (kinda hard to put it on words, but the feel and sound sometimes is iffy at minimal).

Ive also been hearing some popping sounds but maybe im going crazy, who knows.

My question is: is it easy to replace the backplate and the circle pad? My biggest fear of sending it to repair is those fuckers messing with the CFW and making my console piracy obsolete.

Thanks in advance!

the screws on the backplate may have loosened up however i cant really tell you anything with the other stuff (when you refer to the circle pad ... are you referring to the n3DS exclusive one or the one on the left hand side of the device?)

Ive tried that, but i dont think it matters given that it is in the side near de LEDs and there are no screws there. Kinda a faulty design, imo.

Yes, its the one on the left.

the screws would be located under the backplate and they may be loose ... chances are slim this could happen from factory but couldent hurt to check anyway ... and the left pad im not sure about .. i use mine quite a bit so its "broken in" so to speak but mine was a little sluggish at first too if i remember correctly .... if the screws are still tight im at a loss to explain it ... perhaps damaged at the factory? ... you did mention popping noises from the speakers and thats not normal from what i have experienced and read about the n3dsXL ... none the less i hope it gets resolved ^.=.^

If you send it to Nintendo, there's a high chance they'll just give you a "like new replacement" (which looks the exact same) instead of repairing it (unless it's an incredibly tiny issue, then they'll just repair it).

My concern is that would send a console with 11.3 installed. Wonder if i should give a shot or not....

Even if the screws are removed if everything is proper the backplate still stays in place and doesn't wiggle (mine currently doesn't have the screws, the tiny piece of plastic between them and the edges eventually broke off from all my previous removings of the micro sd card, so the screws became pointless and weren't actually holding the plate down. Regardless though the backplate doesn't even wiggle when snapped into place, so its such a non-issue that I haven't even bothered to replace it yet).
