tbh it had been suggested a few times prior and the original a9lh devs (and a lot of members) called it stupid and pointless, until someone else did it, afaik the first nand bootable a9lh was done by shadowhand (in the form of shadownand), which was then used as the base for 3dsafe which used the godmode9 code to enable loading from ctrnand itself rather than trying to squash the cfw into the the firm partition

but yeah its a shame mashers went ape :creep: and left the scene

Well, I think someone should edit the first post to add my repo, since the original one is dead.
a mod will have to do that, I'm not too sure if they will as they may not want to go against mashers wishes to remove the repo, but seeing as it was open source it will probably be fine as it was always public shared and its to be expected that people would have backups

@Cyan are you able to change the link in the first post and maybe notify readers that the project is currently abandoned and no longer maintained by mashers

I think Shaunj did it.
Might be worth just adding a lil notice that 3dsafe is no longer being maintained (unless someone else continues work on it, but imho if someone does do that they might as well just make their own fork and have their own thread for developments)

Why can't they PR? It'll make sence.

BTW, Who here actually despites the UI and wants to change it?
Because mashers has deleted the original repo, if someone wanted to continue improving and adding features it would be better to basically cut ties with the abandoned project and start their own thread etc so they have control of the first post and people aren't confused as to who the Dev working on it is

By all means fork and use the old one as the base, but a slight name change etc would help people realise that the new fork is a newer version.....then again I don't think there is much more to be added to it except maybe gui tweaks etc

One thing mashers was planning, but didnt get to add before leaving the scene: pressing start to confirm the PIN entry. As it is now, it looks for a PIN to be enters that is the exact length of the one set. No more, no less. Anyone could easily figure out how many characters long the PIN is this way. If someone does pick this up, that would be a nice, simple security feature to add.

yeah he actually had that finished after I pointed out the issue, idk if he ever "released" that build, but it was on his GitHub at one point afaik ready to be compiled, I never got around to it though :(

hey, at least you got something :), I'm looking now and it seems I had a clearout of 3ds stuff, so I don't seem to have any builds saved, will check my other drive but not looking good :(
Damn. Oh well. Maybe someone will eventually pick up where he left off. ....probably not.

@mashers come back! We miss you and your awesome work!

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
