Hello, I recently homebrewed my N3DS using soundhax, and shortly after that, I downloaded PKSM. After I genned a couple Pokémon in moon, I put it my copy of soulsilver to play. However, when I booted up the game, the title screen looked very corrupted. The Lugia was covered in some black splotches, and the background was black as well. I thought it was just because I've been using a flash cart so much that normal DS games don't work anymore. However, I used he flash cart and launched up Pokémon platinum, and the game was all black, save for a tiny crack of color (pic attached) I was wondering why this would happen, and if it's fixable. If I have to undo homebrew I will because it's not worth losing the ability to play DS games over. Thanks!

What is your current 3DS setting (exploit + CFW + FW version)?

3DS version is 11.2.0-35U

I am using the latest version of soundhax.

Sorry I'm new to this hacking thing so I don't know what CFW is.

But yeah, didn't update to 11.3 yet. Latest version of PKSM as well

Sorry I'm new to this hacking thing so I don't know what CFW is.
CFW stands for custom firmware I.e. Luma 3ds, NTR CFW, Corbenik... etc.

If you didn't install any of those intentionally and your 3ds wasn't bought used you don't have it.

Honestly it sounds like your SD card may be corrupting, mine does that sometimes
I pop it in my pc, and the files are "there" they're just corrupted gibberish though.

If you mean DS carts, then I have no idea

Maybe somehow the TWL partition is faulty idk how it would be though, have you used flashcarts? Tried with another game/system?
But it sounds like he only installed soundhax and not a cfw. Can he even access TWL? He would need a cfw or something in that direction

You don't even install it though.. I don't see how doing something in arm11 userland can do something to the TWL partition :s

exactly. the sd must be the issue else I see no way how you can brake twlnand wirh arm11userland access. even arm11 itself has no acces to the nand. arm9 has. must be the sd card

But it's doing it to standard ds games as well

but as I mentioned you have no access to NAND partitions if you havent got ARM9 Kernel access. maybe he just dropped it and something in the hardware broke. but thats also very unlikely. this is kinda weird.

No arm9 access -> no nand access -> not possible to corrupt twlnand via software

There is always a chance the copper contacts of the cartridge itself are just damaged or dirty. Clean them, and your game slot then try again. I'll bet you anything that's what your problem is.

That Dell data breach is worse than people probably realize....

When I worked for Dell we had access to data about military contracts and addresses for high ranking people.

I personally handled a call from the second highest person at Raytheon. That call bothered me a lot... The guy was nice and smart what bothered me was the way management basically just blew him off instead of going the extra mile to help him.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
In the end that call ended up costing Dell millions in lost contracts with Raytheon, and really the issue could have been solved for like 450 bucks lol

sometimes I wonder why anyone would ever buy mega man x legacy collection 2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I always thought that capcom shuffled the games in these collection, but apparently they are all in chronological order, which makes legacy collection 2 worthless
