yes, it should be fine. if you are afraid just do a backup on your emunand before updating.

Older luma versions (the ones that don,t need the payload) do not work with 11.3 they black screen, its is however easily fixed by updating the luma to the latest version.

I've heard that fasthax no longer works on 11.3, but I have to test that one out. But if it has already been patched out, it shouldn't be difficult to adjust fasthax to create another new SVC on the 3DS.

Either fasthax will need to be updated to use a different memory address, or a new type of hax that uses a different exploit. It's already been confirmed that SaltFW doesn't work on 11.3.

I'll check if Gateway CFW works on 11.3.

I'm a complete idiot. I read all of this and sounds like another language to me. I have the new 3ds last month I followed this guide https://3ds.guide/ while watching a youtube video where the guy had uploaded a zip file with everything I needed. I'm guessing by fact that it says A complete guide to 3DS custom firmware,
from stock to arm9loaderhax. and I have a thing called luma on my 3ds I'm good to update?
I have a bunch of cias and custom themes I made myself and emulators fbi chmm2 and freeshop all should still work right?

should I install normal or latest hourly and then do the 11.3 update?

I don't think so, at this point due to a system nfirm on the home menu essentially most cfw don't work except for Luma right now.
