Hello, Also a noob. On 11.2 with cfw, luma. Am I understanding correctly that it is safe to update, but homebrew app needs new otherapp payload to function? but like my cias will be okay? Or completely hold off?

Just hold your horses people ..ignore the update for now and let the developers figure it out...

If your setting is A9LH + Luma3DS, yes, everything except homebrew and NTR will work.

Luma3DS already confrim working, and some online stuff is require you to be on lastest FW.

If I'm remember correctly, official Pokebank won't work unless you're on the lastest FW even the app itself doesn't update.

This update was kind of disappointing.I thought Nintendo would bring more to the table and add that arm9loaderhax.bin patch everyone's been theorizing on since the bug bounty.They did block the safehax and fasthax stuff like expected but still,they waited since October to release this.

There is no reason to rush to update. Everything requiring the newest firm doesn't force it until a few days after the updates are released. That means you can stay on 11.2 for a few days while the devs find new offsets, without losing access to online features. You won't get the forced update message for a while. Well after things like HBL and NTR are fixed. Just wait.

Yes i know, but it also won't force you to update ASAP before it stops working. Anything that requires internet access does the same thing.

EDIT: Ok Pokebank and Miiverse/eShop make you update but online in game is alright for a bit.

Same goes with Miiverse. It for some reason instantly checks your firmware. Though it's a piece of crap so it shouldn't matter.

You sound like it's still work, But the truth is if you don't have lastest FW,
the app refuse to continue and won't allow you to exchange your pokemons with the cloud.
3DS never force people to update.
