Gaming Pokémon Global Link note says almost 6,000 people have been banned online for having altered save da

The exact moment before? Like, you export your save, but don't modify it, nor play the game after that. Enter the game, go online and get banned. If yes, just need to do a "little" hex search if my theory's correct.

I could play today and not get any bans, then without using my 3ds at all, come back a few days later and find myself banned

I think this is related to

• Sudden item amount changes or blatantly obvious editing
• Illegal Pokémon used in Rating Battles
• Editing stuff from the trainer info tab, like money and BP. I believe these trigger another flags in the game that PKHeX does not.

I haven't been banned so far, however, the things I did was hacking over 900 Max Elixirs for my main quest, then 999 rare candies. I've never entered Battle Spot and my GTS/trades have been kept with legit Pokemon only.

I tried reverting back the Max Elixirs and Rare Candies to a less sketchy amount. Let's see if that triggers a ban... I've been wanting to restart the game anyways

BTW, you can have 999 items in the game legally. I just tried buying a lot of Poke Balls and it reached 999 without issues

Illegal Pokémon can't enter online, not even in Free Battles. I think they even can't in offline battles.

Only Pokémon that can enter online are legit ones. My theory is that your save gets modified as soon as you get online, so if it's correct, we can simply revert what was modified and unban.

I thought they were lying with that figure, but since it's starting today and people have noted being banned, well. If anything it's a PSA to backup saves more regularly because these bans I think can be reversed through restoring an older save, and suffering only an older win-loss ratio, to the user, hopefully not substantial. As far as item modding, only thing done is Honey, which is totally feasible to get 999 of that. If the ball item modding is an issue, one can enable a 100% catch cheat. Hacked pokemon, not much of a concern as long as you do it right, at the same time they need to fix the checks because some things are marked illegal when they shouldn't be. I guess now it helps that my main game for doing genning requests does not Game Sync setup, and I hardly go online with the other games, so I think I'm in the clear. I do find it interesting how this brings out all the guests and members in droves, like the banwave a few months ago.

I'm saying restoring an older unbanned save will do the trick, it sounds very similar to trade/battle bans when you disconnect online at certain points, supposed to stop rage quitting and such, but servers can suck to the point of it being something completely beyond your control. For the sake of confirmation, has anyone done this? Got banned today, restored their save, and now you're unbanned? Serebii noted an error code which the trade/battle bans never did, thus potentially more severe a ban.

I though someone tried this with no gain from it. It's tied to the Game ID - To the savefile. Only a new game from 0 can repair this.

Trying this, but it gives me "The saved game data is corrupted". Probably Secure Value.

I though someone tried this with no gain from it. It's tied to the Game ID - To the savefile. Only a new game from 0 can repair this.

If it's tied to the savefile, one can change it back.

Are you sure? Have you tested? Because there were very similar bans in ORAS era when restoring your old save did nothing
