i have an R4i (www.r4i-sdhc.com) and i want to connect to the wifi-connection (it's down but there are alternative servers). But my Wifi is WPA2 encrypted, the normal DS(lite/i) cant handle the encryption, but the (new) 3DS does. how can i set up Wifi on the R4 because i always get error that it needs WEP ?

SOLUTION: i just used an Android Hotspot with no Security/encryption (open, no password)

1. It saves it to the SD card. If you don't insert the SD card I think it asks you the settings again next time you start it up. If you want it to save to the CTR NAND then look at https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-kecleon-patch-for-luma3ds.455090
According to that thread there seem to two configs then, one for SD and one for NAND Luma. The NAND Luma settings are saved to /rw/luma/config.bin on your CTR NAND if you use the option "Save config.bin in CTRNAND" which will appear when you use the Kecleon patched arm9loaderhax.bin.
I checked that path on my NAND and strangely I do have a luma folder with a config.bin there. How is that possible? I never installed the Kecleon version, all I used was Aurora's original .bin (v6.6) when I followed the guide. At what step did it save settings to the NAND? I'm confused.

I'm confused too!! Maybe Luma saves the config to the CTR NAND if there's no SD card?

That could be but the thing is.. I pressed Start (save) on the settings screen after the SD card was reinserted, as written in the guide.
Reinsert your SD card, then press (Start) to save and reboot!

Wouldn't that mean it should go to the SD luma folder?
Heh, I think I'll move that question to the Luma thread. I'm kinda curious now how this works. :D

Guys, my sd got corrupted and everything fucked up, i restored an old nand backup to recover it but i have a little problem, i only have like 8gb left of 32gb, idk if there are games installed and i don't see them in 3ds or whatever else occupying space, can you guys help me with this? TY!

I brought a New 3ds Xl, it had arm9loaderhax and everything. I wanted to do a backup, but my brother accidentally deleted everything all in the SD Card, ¿can i install everything again? My 3ds is not bricked

If they were installed VIA .cia, the .cia files might be left over. Games are installed in encrypted folders in the "Nintendo 3ds" folder, so deleting them that way would be pretty difficult. If you want to visualize the SD card space on a computer you can use an application like "windirstat". Really shows whats taking up space, just make sure you know what you're deleting. Not sure if there would be a change of folders when the NAND got restored.

But to keep things simple, check the size of the "nintendo 3ds" folder. Thats where stuff is installed to.

Not 100% sure if some file recovery software would pick up all the files you want back, but its worth a shot. Its still definitely recoverable, and you can install things again, just dont expect saves... (unless you backed them up, or manage to back them up somehow)

I have a problem when i'm installing Safehax, i get a blackscreen, after attempts, and i have a DS Cartridge in.

How do I use PKSM to inject Pokemon on my copy of heartgold? I can only access the events option to inject event pokemon but the "OTHER" option seem not accessible. Thanks in advance.

hi can i remove the hack like fbi h&s and just homebrew with mod fbi install legit signed gamess
if so how can i remove the hack first

I would install the cia version of FBI (i understand you want to use the 3DSX version). Seems easier and better option.

You can remove the H&S FBI yes, you can inject in Hourglass 9 the original H&S if you made a backup before injecting the FBI one. If you dont have a backup you can also remove it trough FBI. Open FBI > Titles > FBI (the RED font color one) > Delete Title and Tickets. Then start a system update and it will reinstall the original H&S.

I've successfully installed A9LH following the official guide, but now I'm stuck with a H&S app working as H&S but with the FBI icon, the FBI app working normally and a black icon which just loops the 3DS logo endlessly if opened.
I've tried to look for titles with a black icon using FBI and the Instruction Manual comes up, but I can't delete it.

Help?

You can use Chulhu to fix the FBI icon on H&S (clear home menu icon cache) but not sure about the black icon. That would normally indicate you installed a non-system title to NAND.

Thanks, I'll use Cthulhu then!

As for installing to NAND... I guess I installed FBI? I mean, that's the only thing the guide said, but then again FBI is already installed, so maybe it somehow got installed twice?

I'm putting here the steps I followed:
Section VI - Finalizing setup
  1. Open Health and Safety (which is now FBI)
  2. Select “SD”
  3. Select “cias”
  4. Navigate to FBI.cia and press (A) to install
  5. Navigate to hblauncher_loader.cia and press (A) to install
  6. Navigate to lumaupdater.cia and press (A) to install
  7. Return to the SD directory with (B)
  8. Navigate to arm9loaderhax.bin, then press (A) on it and select the “Copy” option
  9. Return to the FBI main menu with (B)
  10. Select “CTR NAND”
  11. Select “<current directory>”
  12. Select the “Paste” option, then press (A) to confirm
  13. Exit with the home button

If you followed the guide that can't be it. It's also only on older builds of FBI that you get a choice in where to install to (I think the recent ones detect whether it's a system title or game and install to the right place automatically). Hopefully someone chimes in with the answer :-)

1). How do I revert a CFW N3DS to normal for selling? Format the SD card and I'm good to go?

2). Do the new Galaxy type N3DS XL's have better build quality than RED/Black. I am interested in Hinge and likelyhood of IPS screen.

THANKS!
