Hi to all!

Just successfully softmodded my WII-U (Homebrew loader through Haxchi)

Everything just works fine, but....

I do not want to do a ColdbootHaxchi and I find it a bit tedious to start Haxchi with a button pressed to start Mocha.

Is it possible to buy another game from the Haxchi List and install Haxchi a second time with a different config (and icon) so that one starts Homebrew, the other Mocha?

Regards,

Kirky

Yes, you can have more than one haxchi. Just make sure you don't use the same game as before. You can even use WUP installer to install a 2nd DS to sigpatched sysNAND and then install Haxchi.

Haxchi right now starts my Homebrewloader (how it is supposed to be)
and I can start various programs like mocha or simplesigpatch via holding a button while starting Haxchi.
It is not exclusively about mocha. Instead of holding buttons while starting Haxchi, I just want another Haxchi with a different config.
One starts Homebrew Loader, one starts mocha, another starts simplesigpatch and so on.

Just curious if this is possible...

Regards,

Kirky

Sounds possible, but also sounds expensive as each install requires another purchase from eshop and you can't play the game. Hey, it's your money, have at it.

unless you get a haxchi compatible game from nus. You can load it up on a sigpatched sysnand or any CFW.

Hmmm.... I think it does not work, or I am making some mistake:

Bootet WII-U (No Coldboot Haxchi)
bought "Kirby: Mouseattack" and "Yoshi: Touch and Go" (both PAL) from eshop
Started Haxchi which in turn started Homebewloader
Started Haxchi Installer 2.5u1

and...

the list contained only "Kirkby Mass attack" the one already used for Haxchi

the other two games are not listed...

Regards,

Kirky

I thought about this a few times.
To run anyone of the WUP installed DS game Haxchis we would need to run the eShop Haxchi once after every coldboot to enable sigpatches otherwise they won't work, right?

But could we do the following on a fresh Wii U?
  1. Buy Yoshi Touch & Go in the eShop
  2. Install Haxchi into Yoshi Touch & Go and use this for sigpatches
  3. Download any other DS game from the list via NUS and install via WUP installer
  4. Install Haxchi into 2nd game putting U-Paint as default in Haxchi config
  5. Change titleID, icon and bootscreen via ftpiiu to make it look like U-Paint
  6. Install the same DS game again via WUP installer (because we changed the titleID of the already installed one before)
  7. Install Haxchi into 3rd game putting Flappy Bird U as default in Haxchi config
  8. and so on ...
This way we could build unlimited forwarders to any homebrew just as we like. We only would need to run the first Haxchi game (Yoshi Touch & Go in this case) once after every coldboot, right?

Right. Or just install CBHC and you won't ever have to run the first HaxChi. Just hide the icon so you don't accidentally delete it.

Maybe I do this one day. Dimok's FAT32 USB support could be a reason. But thanks so far, now I can make all forwarders I want by myself. :)

Wassup lordelan, I apologize for bringing back this old post back. But I having a little trouble with number 5 on your instructions there, I was trying to see if you can break down that portion for me in a more details structure. I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. (Also let me know if this is way still relevant or not. The initial post of this thread is a year ago so this routine might be redundant if there a better and new way of doing things. Please let me know if that the case as well. I appreciate your help man! Thank you.

Instead of 5 it would be the better to dump that Haxchi game with ddd, get in on the PC, unpack it with CDecrypt, change the title ID in the meta.xml (meta folder), repack with NUS Packer, uninstall the Haxchi game you dumped from the Wii U (system settings or system config cool) and install the newly packaged one with WUP Installer GX2.

Now, when you say games, do you mean this method can be use to install Homebrew Apps on the system nand as well? I want to used the one-then-more Hakchi feature to install homebrew app on the system nand (for example, Loadiine GX 2, Mocha, etc.) as a shortcut so I don't have to go to homebrew each time. (I also thought I should point and let you know that my Wii U does not have Cold Boot Hakchi on it just regular Haxchi)

Sure that works. But keep in mind that you would have to run the "original Haxchi" (which is placed in a regular bought eShop game with no changed title ID) once after every boot to start the CFW before you can use other Haxchi forwarders which are being installed into games you got from other sources (like Wii U USB Helper).

Ok thanks man!!! And that's what I always use too...Wii U USB helper. I love that damn app!
One more question. How do I change the Title ID, Icon and Bootscreen after I install DS Game numbers 2 and 3? And like, where do I go...far as path location?

What you do is installing a DS game via WUP Installer, install Haxchi into it, dump it with ddd, remove it from the Wii U, edit the dump on PC*, repack with NUS packer and reinstall it with WUP Installer.

*I dunno if ddd dumps games to NUS or Loadiine format (with those 3 folders code, content, meta), but if it's NUS format (with .app files and so on) you would have to unpack it with CDecript.
Then go into the meta folder. There you have the icon and bootscreen. Use photoshop to edit them and make sure they are saved in the exact same format as before. To do so, make sure your new images are in the same resolution, copy them over the original files, merge the layers in photoshop and hit CTRL+S. To change the title ID edit the meta\meta.xml with a simple text editor/notepad.
