Yeah I don't know why everbody is craping on the wiiu on this post. You can basically do what ever you want on the wiiu without downgrading or installing something like a9lh.

im hoping bootrom being exploited enables us to created our own custom NAND images and flash them back via hardware. that would be sweeeet.

Not much more than a9lh, actually. It'll make first time installs a bit smoother though.

sighax is unpatchable without hardware revision. Fasthax and soundhax can be patched any time now.

Although what Nintendo can do while waiting for sighax to show up is make it hard to install sighax by patching fasthax and cleaning up dsiware exploit stuff. There isn't much they can do about hardmod installation though, but that's quite an obstacle for the user at least.

On both the wii u and the 3ds piracy is pretty much perfect.
Both natively installing games to the homemenu. Both near autobooting exploits. Doesn't get much better then that
