I'm trying to run a game on my DS, but when i try to open "games" it says that a file's name is too long, and I have to rename it.
Yet, when I rename it it won't read the file correctly, and the game will not run!
How do I fix this, or rename a .nds and keep it readable?

are you trying to rename it on the console itself or using a PC? try using a pc, if that's what is having issues then it might be corrupted, run checkdisk on the drive. if it's running windows that is

he meant redownload the rom, not a different game
Oh.
I tried re-downloading it 3 times, nothing came of it.

try formatting the drive as fat32 (backup all the save files first), rename the file then copy it back
