This will verifiy all the tgas in a meta folder and ensure that the wii u will be able to read them, other wise it will tell you the issue.

Usage:
Drop in a folder with the meta tga files, and run it.

What this does:
This will ensure they are all the right format and size and depth.
Also this will add some bytes on the end of the file so that the wii u will read them right.

What it eventually will do:
Verifiy the bootMovie.h264, and ensure the wii u will be able to play it.
Some meta.xml parsing and checking(mainly for the manual.bmfa).

edit by Cyan:

1. the icon MUST be 128x128 pixels, background 986x504 pixels
2. the icon MUST have a depth of 32. (add an alpha channel)
3. all of the .tga files MUST have ........TRUEVISION-XFILE.. at the end of the file. (tgaVerify will add it automatically if missing)
4. all of the .tga files MUST be uncompressed

no your probably compressing them without realizing it or you have found some tgas in legit official games and we can have multiple valid formats

When I try to download this using Chrome, it gives me a warning saying that (translated from French) "this file could risk damaging your computer". This file isn't really dangerous, right? Has it been tested to make sure that it's completely safe?

it safe(though you may not trust me) but i havent heard any complaints

Why are people saying this will protect from bricks? What in the hell are you replacing that would brick the console if the TARGA isn't valid?

The worst that ever happens when using invalid TARGAs is that the app reads as a question mark and won't boot.

I think like one person changed the images for their haxchi, didn't test it and then set it to coldboot, thereby bricking. I don't think it's been a common occurrence.

Ah, coldbrickhax. Forgot about that.

I see the point of this tool helping against bricks then.
