Hacking How do I update hacked 3DS safly ?

I am constantly going into my 3ds micro sd card and recently found out there's a wifi microSD Management which I don't have on my 9.0FW new 3DS, so how do i update safely to 10.0 or whenever that microSD Management was implemented ?

and possibly without using retail cartage

I could be wrong, but I thought the MicroSD Card Management utility was an N3DS thing? Anyway, even if it's not, we still need the information for what you're running on your 3DS as far as CFW goes before anyone can tell you to 'just update' or give you instructions on what to do.

It is a new 3ds thing. The old3ds has a regular sd slot.

if you have A9LH you can just update normally, if not you will have to do a cia update with safeupdater. but DONT use your gateway to update!

why not just take the sd card out from the 3ds? there are also ftp homebrews on 3ds and the transfer you were talking about should work from emunand

thanks. yeah microSD Management is available on my emunand but i'm looking to get it on my SysNAND so i don't have to jump around in and out of emunand , maybe this isn't worth it ? I just think im gonna wear out the springloader of the microsd

use homebrew and an ftp app. works perfect with a program like filezilla

well micro-manger made available is built in to the N3ds system settings and if your a O3ds updating will not bring it to you "natively", but someone made a modded standalone version on your homescreen for both N3ds and O3ds. you should find it on "that iso website" by googeling

i have been out of the loop with gateway 3ds for a while since i sold my gateway and my supercard DSTWO broke.
i dont want to give you incorrect information because i know how temperamental the gateway is, One little step and you will end up bricked or updated systemnand with no way to downgrade or hack.
seeing how your on the "golden FW" (9.0-9.2) you have the world of hacks at your fingertips. If you are 3ds hack savy i as well as mostly anyone would recommend A9LH+updated system nand. But its somewhat difficult and not for the feint of heart, IF A9LH IS DONE INCORRECTLY YOU CAN PERMANTLY BRICK YOUR 3DS! but once you get it done its the easiest and most future resistant and fast setup around (you can just take any nintendo update and stay hacked)
the next option would be menuhax, a easier noob friendly hack that work from system-versions 9.0.0-X to 11.0.0-X is fairly easy to setup. This allows you to keep using you emunand (boot time will be a bit slower) but holds no brick risk.

now some pros and cons of both

A9LH
Pros

• Instant fast booting into Custom firmware
• update future resistant (some say its future proof)
• you can keep your 3ds max updated by updating as regular from system settings
• no more emunand need (is optional but not recommended) the hack is installed on the 3ds Nand chip itself and is protected, you can port you emunand to your system nand with some additional steps.
• brick protection, if for some reason you brick you 3ds after you have a fully working A9LH you can unbrick easily with a nand backup because A9LH boots before you system (like the nintendo wii priloader/bootmii)

A9LH
Cons

• If done wrong you can PERMANENTLY brick your 3ds. although the methods are a lot safer then before its still very much possible to damage your 3ds.
• it can be hard to do this and it will take quite a bit of time, but the after results are worth it.
• A9LH doesn't really play nice with gateway, seeing how with a9lh you use a CFW with the features already built in it may clash with gateway.
• you will need a big internal SD or (sd micro for n3ds) A9LH does not use .3ds+sav for your backups it uses .cia that is installed to your home menu. Meaning that if you want to convert+backup your gateway saves you will need to convert them to cia format and convert and inject your saves

Pros

• Easy to setup and holds no brick risk
• works with existing gateway emunands
• can act as a shortcut to boot to gateway menus & emnuands

MENUHAX
Cons

• Slower boot times, the exploit is a modded theme and relies on the exploit to work
• not 100% boot rate, sometimes the 3ds might do a harmless freeze and fail to boot into emunand mode and you have to reboot, id say it has a 85% boot rate
• not future proof, this only works with system nand versions 9.0.0-X to 11.0.0-X, if you update the system nand by accident you will be stuck their and unhacked
• its more work now a says to keep it maintained because you have to keep your 3ds version spoofed to the right version, (unless your emunand is max updated)

TL;DR
gateway & emunand+system nand v9.2 is becoming a outdated way of 3ds CFW and one of those options are better

well A9LH does have a option to still boot into regular 3ds mode where you can use gateway from by holding a button of your choice

no that would only allow you to get to NDS settings. you can also install a standalone version of N3DS settings SD edition (also a modded cia file from a member.) but im not sure how that would act on a O3ds.
