I did do that...
I deleted the most recent sav, but doesn't Pokémon sun save also in the Nintendo 3ds directory on system sd card?

Running out of ideas, really frustrated [emoji17]

I did find this directory that was created this morning on my N3DS mSD Card:

G:\Nintendo 3DS\c45a562ef591e30628d64de695c60593\112100e547122391534130380002544d\extdata\00000000\00001648\00000000

Has 2 files in it:

- 00000001, 112kb
- 00000002, 30kb

I am not sure if I should delete them, is that where Pokemon Sun retail cart saves to, or does gateway save there also? Really want game to work on my GW... :(

Update the red card? How do I do that? I thought all I needed was the latest launcher.dat?
did you trimmed the rom before convert it to card2 , card2 cant be trimmed
...00001648.sav is the save file for card1 in the root of your 3ds microsd card

dude try this.

For Gateway Red Card users:

IF you have ANY Pokemon Sun or Moon Extra Data DELETE IT:

Home Menu > System Settings > Data Management > Nintendo 3DS > Extra Data > Pokémon Sun / Moon

Delete these or back these up: 0004000000175E00.sav and 0004000000164800.sav
(located on the 3DS INTERNAL SD CARD if you don't have them that's good)

Grab the Card1to2 Save Tool, Extract it to wherever.

Grab the rom (.3ds) extract it to your Gateway Red Card SD Card
(IF THIS DOESNT WORK TRY DOING ALL THIS ON YOUR C: DRIVE INSTEAD)

Drag the .3ds from the Gateway Red Card SD card to the card1to2.exe you extracted earlier and press 1 then ENTER (it should be quick)
This changes the card1 save type to a card2 save type, because Gateway cannot currently support this card1 save type.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GO ONLINE

Put the SD card back in the Gateway and into the 3DS and launch the game

If you get a message here about corrupt save data, delete the corrupt Save Data IN GAME with key combo UP + B + X and follow prompts
IF you get another error message here, turn off the 3DS and take out the INTERNAL 3DS SD card and delete these:
Delete these or back these up: 0004000000175E00.sav and 0004000000164800.sav
(located on the 3DS INTERNAL SD CARD if you don't have them that's good)

Try Again.
IF YOU WANT TO GO ONLINE

Download and run Gateway Rom Patcher 1.2 and inject the .3ds rom on the Gateway Red Card SD card with your own private header .bin

Answer yes to both card changes. Make sure rename to .3dz is ticked and hit apply.

Put the SD card back in the Gateway and into the 3DS and launch the game.

I still get an error message when trying to delete corrupted save. Also, I don't have both of those .sav files you listed either. Also deleted the Pokemon Sun/Moon Extra Data under Data Management... :(

What is this title ID? "0004000002C23200"

That .sav was created on my N3DS mSD card this morning when I was still trying to figure all this out... I don't remember booting any other games on my GW this morning except for Pkmn Sun...

I managed to get it working with Jao Chu's method. Here's a mini step by step.

-Download HxD
-Open up your .3DS with the hex editor
-Hit Ctrl+G
-Type in 1FE
-Change the value from 05 to 00
-Save

I think that should be it, but to stay safe, I converted the .3DS to Card2 with the tool, and injected my private header.

I tried that method with no luck. How do I extract and inject Private Header? I do have the tool for that :)

So it looks like using cart 1 to 2 only sort of works. I managed to load the game but was only able to save twice and then froze in the third save and is now corrupted...
