Hey guys,

so I have problems with ctr-httpwn if you couldn't tell of the title. The problem is that I try to activate it and it gets stuck at "downloading config". It worked fine before.

I use a 11.0 N3DS with Steelhax without any CFW or anything.

I just turn off wifi and let it use the cached configuration.

That doesn't seem to be working.
The WiFi-off cached method works fine for me, you need to have run ctr-httpwn at least once on your console for the cache to be made on your SD. What error are you getting?

If you're continuing to have issues, just be patient and wait for the server to come back up.

That doesn't seem to be working. I've started an 'issue' to try and find a way around it: https://github.com/yellows8/browserhax_site/issues/17#issuecomment-258709552 but yellows is being pretty vague...

I have the cached file from a few of days ago but it isn't working for me - eShop/System Transfer takes 5-10 mins to load before getting error 005-4040. Would you mind please uploading your cached file and I'll try with that?

Just checked the eShop: I'm getting the same error. Strange, considering I can access PokéBank and the online features of other games.

I say just wait until the server is back up.

I already tried it with the cached file but it didn't work out. I tried deleting everything and reinstalling. Didn't work either.

Yeah I spoke with yellows and he said to use a browerhax mirror in the meantime but i have no clue what that is. I've been so out of the loop lately since I haven't had to do anything because of httpwn lol

A mirror is just an alternative site. Works the same as the original. But the mirrors doesn't have to do with ctr-httpwn (as far as I know)

Using the cached file doesn't work, and Yellows8 said that the server won't be back up for a couple of weeks. I've just managed to install CFW on my system (didn't realise it could be done on the latest firmware (if you have access to a second hacked 3DS)), so I no longer need it luckily.

For a couple of weeks?! Geez. I hope it's going to be back up before Pokemon Sun and Moon comes out in EU...

So is there a way to share a cached file here or is it different for everyone?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
