I attempted to downgrade my O3DS back in January, but discovered my system was one of the ones that always softbricks. I was unwilling to give up the data that would be lost with a system format, so left it on 10.3 in the hopes an alternate method would be discovered.

Am I understanding correctly that I could use this now, purchase Fieldrunners, and create a backup of my NAND, format the system, downgrade normally, then reintegrate the original backup later?

what method were you worried about? fieldrunners is used for 11.0+ to downgrade NFRIM, you will still use sysdowngrader to get it to 9.2 and then ctrnand to get it to 2.1 firm.

if you were worried about A9LH the process has shortened a bit, but it has nothing to do with fieldrunners for your system if it's still on 10.3 firm.

Not really sure if I should make a new thread or not, but since this thread is about downgrading with dsiwarehax anyways, I was just wondering, If you do dsiwarehax and the source system still has Fieldrunners on it (from restoring from a backup that was required to make) will it transfer over to another 3DS if you were to do it again since it's legitimately bought from the eShop?

If you are on 11.0.0 or 11.1.0, do NOT update to 11.2.0. A new update will be coming soon that allows for DSiWare NFIRM Downgrading without a second 3DS or hardmod for versions under 11.2.0.

I read a topic on reddit that said it won't be released until the end of December, all because the person who made the hack is going to a convention or some shit.

I should have been more clear about what I am trying to say. Even though we have other hax for OFW 9.0 to 10.7 his guide does not mention dsiwarehaxx for the older OFW.

I don't really understand what you're asking. DSiwarehax is only necessary for firmwares 11.0 and higher due to the anti-downgrade measures introduced with that system update, and so you can just downgrade 10.7 straight from the homebrew launcher, hence there being no need for dsiwarehax to enter into the equation.

It will probably be 33C3 on 26th December. Smealum, derrek and plutoo announced various exploits there last year.

Would certainly be nice if the exploit was released before then as i'm getting my brother a Pokemon 2DS for xmas so it would be handy to hack it beforehand. If not theirs always a system transfer.

I'm pretty sure that someone said that before it was confirmed to be patched out on 11.2, so there isn't really a point in waiting until December for a release.
