Though over half of that library won't be available once Ninty shuts down the servers, even more so since thanks to CIAngel and such you can't really find cia files from the usual places anymore. So better download anything you think you might ever want to play via funkeycia/3dsestuff now before it's too late.

I imagine they'll re-release popular Wii U and 3ds games (I say this with the image of Mario Kart 8 running on the Switch in my mind, as shown in the reveal trailer), or at least I hope so (they'd simply draw a line across the center of the Switch's screen and render each screen from the Wii U or 3ds on either side; the same way DS games are emulated in DeSmuMe; so no need for two screens). But it's all speculation at this point.

sorry, i was being actually joking, because you put that emoticon i jumped in the joke, but now that i read it again it looks like the joke could be missed

now, without joking...
i think there will not be retrocompatibilty at all... the console is an entire new way to play, when there is retrocompatibilty the new device is very similair to the old one..
look at the wii, it has gamecube ports, the wiii U it even got the sensor bar in the gamepad... the 3ds is just a better ds with improved stuff...

the nintendo switch is an entire new thing
nintendo will most likely port games do remakes etc... maybe newer VC consoles..

GBA lacks a front/backlit display. The Light has that over it. GBA SP master race ftw.

The fact that the Switch is both a home/handheld hybrid console is the exact reason why it'll kill both the Wii U and the 3DS, as having one ecosystem to take care of is a lot simpler than taking care of two.
