Hi there, whenever I try and launch this application I end up with a black top screen (with a few green pixels in the bottom left corner), and a yellow bottom screen. The system is completely locked up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Running N3ds on 11.1.0-34u via Ninjahax

They may be using the CIA version or SDF. You can try selecting a game that works and hold L + R while JKSV boots and try using the CIA's cartridge menu to get to it. Since it's extdata, it might work.
Thanks. To clarify, the save manager works; I'm currently using it with MHGEN and MH4U (both US region cartridge, same as my 3ds region). I also tested it with other US cartridges and it worked perfectly.

The problem arises when I tried to use it with Monster Hunter Stories (J) cartridge. The top screen froze at black and the bottom screen at yellow when I tried to load the game on Save Manager. Not sure if this is a problem with this specific game or with compatibility problem between US console & Japanese cartridges (it plays fine on Homebrew Region free though).

I can't use CIA version since my 3ds is Homebrew (not CFW).

How do I go about making a custom xml as suggested above, if that can help solve this issue? Does it require locating the (External Data) save directory on my SD card?

You can't use it fully, but you can access its menu. I have a button combo to skip the ID check for testing stuff (This is how I found the Pokebank thing). Target a title that JKSV can run under and hold L + R while the debug info and colors flash on the top. You should now have the CIA version's menu. Try using the cartridge menu to get into MHS's extra data. It should work since it saves to extdata.

If not, someone can get its ID and I can make a quick program to grab its data with that file lib I wrote to speed stuff up.

wait I want to get into the extra data of pokemon oras so I can edit the backgrounds for the battle replays are you able to do that ? I just need to at least extract the extra data for oras.

X/Y/OR/AS battle vids have been and continue to be accessible via exporting the ext data from the corresponding games. The only trick is finding the data you're looking for and editing it (there's already tools for viewing the pokemon in a BV as well as the actual battle data, just no editors that I'm aware of at this time).

The instructions on how to use these are literally in the link he gave you. :/
I just been able to get back to this other day and still red screen and wont load. I noticed the link shows I have a mac. which I don't. does that affect the xmls?? I'm trying to do something with acnl and no jk save manager wouldn't be useful for this. since its an older save anymew hope someone might can help with the problem.

ihaveamac is the name of the person who runs the repository, that's irrelevant. You need to place the mmap folder on the root of your SD card.

...wow... Just, wow. As said before, ihaveamac runs the repo. :/

In case it hasn't been made clear enough, you need to have a folder on the root of your SD card named mmap and in this folder you should have [many] .xml files from the repository that has been linked to you already.

If you continue to face issues, please in the future be very clear about what you have done, what you are doing, and what you are trying to do. That being said, don't be afraid to ask if you need any help.

I noticed the link shows I have a mac. which I don't.
I may add this as my first signature quote.

Thanks! I tried this today and was able to access the cartridge menu, backup and load my MHS saves without problem. Wonderful tool!

Hello!

Can someone please post a link to the latest release in cia and 3dsx versions? I search for it on githube but the latest is from 06/30/16 and I think there are newers versions and it is too complicated to search them is this thread with so many links to different versions..

Thank you very much!

Try the very first post. The 3dsx is attached, the cia is under the QR Code/DL Link sections. :/

I thought that there were newer versions than those from the first post... JK said he hasn't time to edit the first post some days ago... aren't there newer releases?

If he has released them, I haven't seen it yet. Feel free to look through past posts and prove me wrong though.

I was just asking because I saw this post and I understood that this was a newer version:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...cia-save-manager.413143/page-104#post-6730692

And here JK_ said that he cannot keep the first post updated

https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...cia-save-manager.413143/page-103#post-6724105

So this all maybe confused me and I thought that there were newer versions. If you say that the first post is ok, I will go with those files, thank you

The first link is the latest 3dsx release for ORAS people, otherwise the one in the first post works just fine. There is no newer CIA version.

The newest you can get is the CIA on the cleanup branch. There won't be another for a little while though. I started working on making it closer to what I originally wanted it to be and that requires rewriting the title select.
