Hi! We're trying to install CFW on a n3ds. We managed to get the homebrew installer working via migration and steelhax. But like the title says, we now get a black screen when trying to load the arm9loaderhax installer. We double checked that we followed the steps and copied the right files to the sd card. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks!!!

Well, u have version 10.4, which u cant install a9lh on because this version doesnt have a9 kernel access.
But because u r on a low enough version, u can downgrade to 9.2.0 via sysupdater/downgrader without an exploitable game :)
U just need the HBL starter pack from the official site and enter to HBL via browserhax :)

When I go into the 3ds system menu, it says 11.1.0-34E, but the kernel version and FIRM version is definitely 2.50-11 (we did a downgrade and backup). So will it work with browserhax? And how do we proceed? :) Steelhax is working fine to access the homebrew launcher.

If you read the guide you just followed you should see that it tells you to go to the downgrading section when finished.
This is in the homebrew part that you get directed to after finishing the DSiWare downgrade part:

6. All versions above 9.2.0 should do 9.2.0 Downgrade at this point, before proceeding
