im using the latest nintendont, my thumbdrive wont show up in nintendont, it keeps bringing up in red that my usb fat device cant be accessed, I am using a 128gb sandisk usb 3.0, the folders are :games/game title folders/game(iso files named game, not game.iso) . I have tried both 32 and 64 like the guide says, and neither work. I have also tried switching from usb ports on the back of the wii. anyone help please?

There is a large Nintendont support thread here.

Make sure you specify what revision you're using (not just latest) and how exactly your drive is formatted. Nintendont requires FAT32 (or exFAT, I believe.)

Game should be stored like so:
/games/title [titleid]/game.iso
/games/title [titleid]/disc2.iso (for 2nd disc of multi-volume games)

Just "game" or "game.gcm" is incorrect.

One: that's under wii u hacking and homebrew, Im using a normal wii which is why I posted here,
Two:my specifications on revision doesnt matter as I stated I have the latest of which everyone knows nintendont has an update feature equipped,
Three: I learned the hard way my problem wasnt the wii nor the thumbdrive, you just cant fat32 partition a thumbdrive over 32gb, so my bad there.

thx for your help....

There is only one version of Nintendont and it only runs in virtual Wii mode on the Wii U. And yes, it does matter what version it is if you want help. "Latest" could be the first version ever released if you got it from a site that never updated their links. It's not difficult to launch the program and look at the version number in the corner of the screen.

Yes, you can absolutely partition a flash drive as FAT32 > 32GB, but flash drives are notoriously flaky on Wiis.

no you cannot fully fat32 partition a 128GB flash drive, you can half and half, but fat 32 partition's exactly that amount and nothing more, the wii wants to read the rest of the partition instead of the fat32, so no it cant be done, unless you mess around with the wii to where it overlooks that remaining partition, of which over all is a waste of data as I still have 96gb left unused.

and no there are more than one version of nintendont, after all it was update, however I think our definition of version is being perceived as two different things, im talking about when you update from lets say;

1.5 to 2.0, just made that up, but you get the gist of it. that's what I mean when I say version. it isnt last years nintendont, but the literally today's nintendont...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and yes it does matter by your view point on what version im using, after all I could have found it on some rip off site, as i stated before though, I update from the app.

are you sure? try this http://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/

there is a difference between "can't" and "windows shitting people"

How did I format my 500G HDD to FAT32?
and read this: http://techcosupport.com/press/maximum-size-of-a-fat-32-partition/
Granted, I do believe the Wii itself can only recognize up to 2TB.

How about just fire up Nintendont and read the boot screen version number instead of taking so much time arguing over it?
You know some ppl (maybe just myself) will simply loss interest in helping users who insisted they have the "latest" but neglected to really check and tell?

Who cares anymore if I have the latest, you're hdd is not a thumb drive, its mechanical, the thumbdrive is solid, two different equipment ..

Unless you go buy the exact thumbdrive I have, and try yourself, you cannot help me regardless of revision .

If you don't want to provide the information and you think it's not possible to format a 128GB flash drive as FAT32 then maybe you should just help yourself.

Jesus freaking Christ man do I need to spell it out for you , I don't need your help, and you can't prove its possible, how is me giving you my revision going to magically allow a 128gb thumbdrive to fully fat32 partition? ask any real PC technician, they will tell you the same. Its a thumbdrive not a hard drive..no proof no revision, you cannot help, you will not be able to help, I have already found and stated my answer previously, but you ain't satisfied, I hope other gamers are not persuaded by you to buy a more than 32gb thumbdrive to find out the same. Not to mention I already stated I updated, so unless your trying to suggest that the brilliant developers of this emulator didn't think to include the latest revision in their own update function, you got no more ground stand .

I wouldn't use a damned thumb drive anyway and you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

You do realize that if you're using an old version of Nintendont from before Google Code shut down you will NEVER get the latest version from the internal updater? No? It's because Nintendont moved to Github and the older versions are still pinging Google Code for the update files.

But by all means continue thinking you know what you're talking about, or better yet take your Wii and thumb drive and shove 'em.

Go get this and format your stupid flash drive.

Hmm, that may be true on nintendont, I'll talk to some other more helpful individuals on that, but you however seem pretty ignorant on this, why wouldn't you use a thumb drive, and why aren't you able to prove your right? Also stop postin links for someone who doesn't want help

Use a thumbdrive more than 32 GB fat32 it and see for yourself that the rest of the partition is useless no matter what you use it for, by the way I'm already playing the emulator just fine no thanks to you.

Any further argument from you on this is nothing more than trolling, and if you wanna be a troll than crawl back beneath the bridge from whence you came

You can reply to this but I ain't replying back, and everyone else will see this sooner or later, good day. I have to go to work.

I must be missing something I cant see the comment after mine that was trolling

I don't mean to sound mean but, I was typing that message up as you were commenting, you should've read the previous posts before asking, otherwise you would've noticed the strange argument I'm having

I'm not sure if blocking on this site keeps me from seeing his posts or not so..

Just gonna post on this very old thread that hemonecrophagia is very wrong and misinformed and grey wolf and others were trying to help and you you can definitely format drives over 32gb as fat32... Seems like he's the one trolling...
