I keep hearing about A9LH on here and have some questions about it before I proceed with it:

- What is it? What does it do?
- Can I still use my Gateway card with it, can I still use Gateway cheats?
- Can I still access SysNAND (I also use a SC DSTwo card in SysNAND)?

If yes to all these, how easy is A9LH to install?

Thoughts and help greatly appreciated on all my questions :)

With the new guide, a9lh is super easy. You can make your gateway work too! There is a guide for that as well. A9lh makes sure you have a super fast boot and 100% boot rate because your console will only have sysnand in the end. You won't lose anything!

Can you link me to both the A9LH guide and Gateway guide?

If your happy with your current setup and if you aren't sure how stuff work, it's better if you don't do it because there is a risk of brick.

I would like to try a9lh, but don't know much about it. If it works with sysnand, what about games that require higher FW?

It let's you update your sysNAND to the latest version without losing any features!

you should be if you use luma3ds.
i think it's better to use the emunand even if you have a9lh. it's much safer to my opinion.

you need A9LH + EMUNAND .
don't forget that installing A9LH is risky , it may glitch out somewhere even if you did everything right .

What do you think I should do Xin?

read the guide and if you find it easy use it. if not avoid it.
if you love your 3ds then waiting for it 10sec to boot up isn't a big deal , better than never boot up.
i think it's better for you to just avoid it. menuhax isn't that bad.

You make it look easy for him, but you all know installing A9LH is risky.
He need to know that.

It's not. At all. Clearly you've been out of the scene for a while. It used to be risky (especially on n3ds) but the tools have advanced to the point where a brick can only be caused by user error. With the new CTRNAND transfer method, this is more true than ever.
Here's a little something that I think sums this up perfectly:
but there is always the risk of a brick - small it may be -
Only if you can't follow instructions. It is like saying, I am going to walk 12 hours instead of driving half an hour in a car because it's possible to crash a car. Yes, but it's only really likely if you drive drunk or asleep. If you're smart enough to pay attention, you won't crash (in this scenario, there are no other cars on the road).

Well telling him it's safe , then he make an error and come back for help ....
What do you think ppl will say to him ? How will he feel?
I still think it's better for him to avoid A9LH.

Just like it's better to walk to the next town instead of drive because it's possible to crash your car? :-p
And now there's a special self-driving car that physically can't crash unless you deliberately tell it to.
You should go back and have a look at the guide, it is about ten times as safe (and takes a tenth as long) as the last major revision when people said that it's now so safe nobody can possibly brick with it.
