Original DragonBall is pretty good, it's a typical shounen adventure show. If you like comedy or martial arts, it should be up your alley. DBZ, the sequel, should be watched in the form of the remake, Dragon Ball Z Kai. (It cuts out the filler) The story in it is a bit more action-y and dramatic than DB, so it comes down to taste. I don't do this normally, but I'd also recommend the english dub over the japanese cast as well. If you're willing to sit down through 300 episodes of an anime, go for it.

Eh, I speak Japanese, I can't stand watching any anime with English dubbing at all, a lot of the meanings and idioms are often lost in translation.

English dub exist for localization reasons, not for much else. It is to appeal to native audience the media is distrubted for. As apposed to just being faithful story telling and everyone knows that. That is how is always been. There is no 100% accurate translation and even subtitled Jap dub is also localization. So that is always been controversy about it. But most of it has been cause "I like the japanese voice acting better" I prefer english dub cause it allows me to enjoy the show without trying to read short flashing subtitles where some people don't have the quick processing to do so may pause and read constantly to understand what is going on, they might as well read manga. :P

To each their own opinion, English dub, japanese, dub, there is a option for everyone.:)

Of course, experiencing a medium how it was originally meant to be is the best way to watch, but at the same time, I think it'd be a little hard for someone new to anime to just jump head first like that. Those who can speak Japanese are lucky to be able to watch things without the translation barrier!

Which I resolve by watching it with subtitles lol.

To be honest the translation barrier is really the people inability to find the best way to compare words between languages which still exist today. We know that when reading subtitles and see american branded cussing is not what japanese really find offensive and such is all a matter of opinion and prespective bwteen both countries. But when dub and sub studios use the creative writing to try and change the story slightly to appeal the the target audience that the show is presented it for rather than be consistent with the story to the very end, which explain name changes, and use of more popular cultre references as well. This exist in video games as well as any other form of media.

How funimation tried to make goku like super man in english dub of dragonball z and why people debated who could win a fight between the two. Why games get retranslated, Breath of fire for snes was translated by square enix (Squaresoft at the time) due to their more prominent role in translating script in video games of RPG genre as well as they do publish call od duty titles in JAPAN for same reason. While capcom didn't really had experience in script translations that Square enix had but games get remade and rescripted. Fire emblem was first made on NES or FAMICOM but never released in internationally until the GBA came out and that was not the first game in the series, Fire emblem shadow dragon is a remake of the first game in the series from NES FAMICOM but for first time english due to popularity in the game series generated by featuring marth and roy (two fire emblem characters) in the game.

And just for bonus, watch this video discussing localization vs censorship.:)

I'd listen, but as a Glaceon, I am actually unable to respond. For you see, I have these things called "paws" they aren't made for typing nor am I am able to read because I am a Pokemon.
Thus the best thing I can do listen to command and try not to pee on the carpet.

I still do think it's rather interesting that most of the non-furry weebs absolutely hate furries... but most of the furries here are already weebs.

Perhaps those weebs should consider watching Zootopia or some the good funny-animal shows, or making an avatar-maker avatar, or playing Animal Crossing or something...
