With all this Pokemon Go hype, and the fact that I'm not really fully satisfied with touch screen controls on my tablet, I was thinking of getting a PSP 3000/Go. I want to be able to play emulators on it, as well as having it as a multimedia machine. Though when I search on Youtube, it seems like the videos are very old and I'm not impressed with the frame rate with the GBA emulator (For Pokemon Firered). Over here EZ-Flash Carts are hard to find and would rather use my DS for just DS games. Therefore Im looking into a PSP.

Has the frame rate been fixed (at least running 50-60 fps)? Anyway to make a GBA emulator go faster?

Summery:

Looking into a PSP Go/PSP 3000 (Which is the best hardware to emulate?)
Interested in good framerate emulators (for GBA and pokemon games)
Any suggestions?

Thanks

EDIT: Here is the video I found that shows this unacceptable frame rate.

I'm not sure if it's the same exact hardware but specs-wise anything after the 2000 is the same. After they added the extra 16MB of RAM or however much it was the 1000 didn't have. It doesn't have a UMD drive, I think that's about the only difference. A friend had a hard time with foggy areas in the pokemon games on his 1000, either he wasn't clocking to 333MHz or the 1000 is just lacking somewhere.

The 1000 version has 32 MB of standard RAM. and the 2000,3000,Go and Street have 64 MB of RAM.
The Go doesn't have a UMD drive and the street doesn't have WiFi.

As for hacking the "unhackable" 2k 3k Go and streets, Infinity by Davee is the solution.

Emulation, well, it's emulation, it'll never be perfect.
Tho I must say it's really really decent on the PSP.

Hey DinohScene! Youre always a big help! Though is the emulation for the GBA at least 60 fps? Doesnt seem like it with the link I showed in the OP.

Sup hunny~

Most of the games I threw at it had pretty much a constant 60.
Occasional frame drops but that's to be expected when changing from room etc.

I say, for emulation is really decent.
Audio skipping is pretty much non existent.

Just got myself a psp 3000. Was stuck between psp go or psp 3000. They were the same price on as well. Went with the psp 3000 because of the bigger screen,UmD, and apprently it is more comfertable.

Anyways, what is the best way to start homebrew? I find these guides in this forum outdated and can use help to start.

Thank you

EDIT: The infinity file on the site doesnt even link..

Thanks for the quick reply. Also, I hear once you brick the system(3000 and Go), it is finished and can't be restored. How do you brick a PSP, so it doesnt happen to me.

The best way to brick a console is to venture yourself in uncharted terrority aka get someone to help you doing that. Or at least find a good guide. A video tutorial would prolly be the best.
