Hacking ShadowNAND?

He'll be bringing it back once it's completed probably, I know he's still testing and giving private builds out to people with hardmods so hopefully once it's complete he'll make it available again.

That's what I'm hoping. Though I only noticed when I got an error updating my git repo clones; I like to look though interesting new code, rather than risk blowing up my hardware with it

Well then, I think ShadowNAND's user should test private builds since there is 0% risk to brick with altstage2, at least if you are a complete dumb-noob.

ShadowNAND is still not brick-proof. It's a safety net, yes, but it's rather thin and it will not protect you if you have no idea what you're doing.

What I mean is that you can safetly install KGB as altstage2 and you will be ok since your stage1 and stage2 doesn't get corrupted (which is very unlikely if you don't confuse the stages).

yea, that did not stop people from doing the same with OTPHelper, this was on the changelog for the latest version

just for the sake of it, I would want to keep the SysNAND partition dumping/injecting.

This is in D9, so no worries. We haven't really lost anything with that update.

Is ShadowNAND a CFW of itself and SaltFW is only used when no SD is in? Or is SaltFW used when sd card is in and out?

It's an honest question I want to know the answer to. Sorry if I'm bothering you!

It can boot without SD, but it's better to use SaltFW for now as it lacks crucial CFW features right now. You can check the official thread here.
