I'm as noob as it gets right now when it comes to 3ds hacking just heard today you can do it without a r4 cart so I'm trying to hack my 3ds. I have the old 3ds with a very old firmware 6.2. I was googling around but is the only way for me to use rxtools and have to use the internet browser every time I start the 3ds to play roms? I wouldn't mind but I have poor internet where I live. I don't mind a non-permanent firmware but I was just hoping there was an offline option, or would my best bet be to buy a flash cart?

Follow the guide stickied on reddit if its not here too and the files you need to download leave them downloading from today and start tomorrow

I have a 3ds with A9LH and when I drag .cia files to it fbi doesnt recognize them as .cia files just lets me (copy, delete, paste) and trying to install BIG (500gb >) .cia's in freeshop they give me an error at the end

I literally dont know what to do since I tried installing devmenu and bigbluemenu off a qr code and it crashes when I open them. Any ideas? Its a 128gb sd card should I lower the amount of gigabytes to 64 or 32? Although I think that wont do anything

I could install the Fates .cia weirdly enough, and others are from freeshop and qr codes (I made them, also small .cia's)

But I want to get freeshop and a .cia installer to work properly and I've run out of ideas.

Edit; So I guess to update permanently I need to buy a certain game huh.

Edit 2: nevermind I accidently chose the cart update one.

What are my options here can I upgrade without a certain game or a r4 cart? Because the guide you gave me seem to say one or the other.

This happened to me when I tried injecting a new FBI into health and safety. The older one worked. Try 1.4.17 I think it is.

Is 1.x.x the ones without the pretty GUI and all the new features right? the github only goes back to 2.0

and... how did I inject to HS again I forgot

I can't remember exactly what I installed, I remember that you had to start it from a website link (rxtools or something like that), hope that helps. If you need more details just say the word and I will do my best to provide them.
So the console is now updated to 11.0.0-33E and the website to "reboot" in "CFW mode" no longer works (obviously).
So, is there a CFW for this update? if not, is it possible to go back to a previous CFW-compatible update?

SO... I've been using NTR CFW for a while now on my N3DSXL since before it was discontinued. I haven't changed anything on my SD card or my DS in months. Anyway, now every time I try to run the debugger from the NTR menu I get this error :sev_control memory failed: e0a01bf5. Even though NTR successfully loads. I've tried installing the NTR CFW Loader and the Launcher but every single one does the same thing. I've also tried redownloading the NTR Preview 2 Starter kit, I reinstalled my Luma 3DS v 5.5, I'm on A9LH (updated sysnand) and I have Autoboot Sysnand, Sysnand is updated, force A9LH detection, and show current nand in system settings checked. I tried to google to error but literally not one result..

I would really appreciate some help.

You can downgrade, but only with a hardmod, OR a second, hacked 3DS with Fieldrunners bought from eShop plus an exploit game.

In both cases, once you've downgraded, do yourself a favour and install a9lh on the console afterwards so you don't need to worry about updates (if you go the hardmod route, the hardmodder may install it for you for extra). See https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

After it finally initialized, I let it run its checks on the two dozen or so files, but I managed to look away for a few seconds. When I looked back, I think the process had finished and my console had tried to reboot, but was stuck on a black screen (or froze). It didn't brick, I just had to remove the sd card to boot.

The system version says 9.2, but I'm not sure if it's not a partial downgrade. Should I try to downgrade again, or is there a way to determine if it worked or not? Thank you.

If you can't use browserhax after a few tries, it's probably a partial downgrade and you should downgrade again.

The Plailect guide will tell you how to inject using Decrypt9, I think it's at the bottom of Part 3 but not certain. Basically, boot into Decrypt9 and go to miscellaneous I think, then dump health & safety, naming it hs.app. Download the injecting files from Plailect's guide and put hs.app and fbi.cia in the input folder and double click go.bat. Then put the FBI_with_banner.app in the root of your SD and boot into Decrypt9 again. Do the same but say inject health and safety instead of dump, and choose the FBI with banner file. Now you're done (for more precise instructions look at Plailect's guide)

Just installed the games normally, like any other game. (Just got a SysNAND no EmuNAND) Got really no clue what to do. :c

hey people. i need some help i downgraded my friends 3ds to 9.2 firmware and now they cant seem to reaccess the browserhax or menuhax (they accidentally put a old theme they had been using without knowing they werent supposed to do that) so what i am asking is how does anyone access the browserhax with 9.2 firmware?? we want to reinstall the menuhax. he wanted to do this so he could access hacking for acnl for me. and now we are having trouble. just my luck. smh.

you could have stayed on like 10.3 or whatever you were before this and dumped the save data and change that?!

Just repeat the steps for browser hax and install the menuhax again. Don't change the theme this time

You could try the eshop repair game option.

Not sure what's the issue but have you checked the new GBA injected games without the ghosting and no motion blur?

I KNOW i'm not answering your question but you could try those to see if they install and they also makes gba games playable in comparison to before
