As a save editor noob, I'm a bit confused as to how I should go about "extracting my save data". What exact files I should extract, where to put them, how to load them, ect. I've been looking around for tutorials but nothing precise enough for a baby beginner like me pops up, heh. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this. Thanks!

Ah, thank you for that. I saw a bit of homebrew but don't understand how it works...so the only way I can get it is to buy this expensive freaky forms game? I have several of the secondary exploit games but "requires a previously exploited system to install" not sure what that means.

It means you must have another console with you (even borrowed) that has been previously exploited in order for that hax to work on yours.

If you can't acquire one then you'll need Freakyform Deluxe, Super Smash Brawl or SmileBASIC.

I might be too late, but I was in the same boat as you. I ended up using Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D with a Powersaves exploit to turn it into a primary entry point. Nintendo Selects version of Ocarina of Time on Amazon is only twenty dollars, which is much cheaper than Freakyform Deluxe.

An English Monster Hunter X (Cross) save game editor.

I have a zelda Oothex i can boot to homebrew but from there what do i need to do.
Most the programs dont work they just have a yellow or red screen at the bottom.

Install JKSM. (its really easy)

Then after its installed, boot into Homebrew. Start JKSM and put in your MHGen Cartridge (If you have the Installed Version just cycle through your apps)
Then click on it. Go into Extra Save Settings ---> export the Save
Put the Save on your PC (it's called system (theres another file called system_backup which is a backup. Rename it to system if your file corrupts))
Edit the File on your PC.
Put it back into the folder.
Then Boot Homebrew
Click on MHGen
Extra Settings --> import the File.

Voila You're done.

And ALWAYS have a Backup!

You are a fucking god among us plebians. Once browserhax and menuhax were updated for 11.0 compatibility, i jumped on it and now my life is complete.

Obv. I was missing something, but went to a bunch of other save editors, and not one reply to get homebrew, and yet none of the op's mentioned it. :~: somehow I was linked to general de-encryption guides and hexidecimal stuffs instead of being told about homebrew. Ty

No. You need a tool on the 3ds that can extract and decrypt your savefile, and for this tool you need Homebrew. To get Homebrew there are a variety of options depending on your firmware. So what firmware are you on?
