Gaming Gmod freezes upon attempting to enter options

Every time I try and enter Gmod's options menu, no matter where I try to enter it from, Gmod freezes. I'm also unable to kill it when this happens as I can't open a task manager, so the only thing I can do is shut the computer down by force. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I've heard Gmod has issues running on Windows 10, so I'm guessing that might have something to do with it.

Run it in compatibility mode? Run as Admin? Reinstall/Verify game in Steam? Use Control Alt Delete to open Task manager? Alt Tab to get out of Gmod?

Tried those. Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Alt+Tab both don't work for getting out of/killing Gmod.
