Hacking So shouldn't we call OOT a primary exploit?

You don't need an existing exploit, you need a Powersaves. Yes, you need to put an exploit on the Powersaves, but we don't call Cubic Ninja secondary because it has to download the exploit from the Internet and you need to put the exploit on the Internet.

Even if that made any sense, keep in mind the only "secondary" that would be considered "primary" would be OoThax, since that is the only exploit that can be injected with PowerSaves.

But it does not anyway. Why does the sky look blue? Because someone decided the name of that colour was blue. OUTRAGEOUS! I SHALL MAKE THEM CALL THE SKY PURPLE! JUST BECAUSE I AM THE ONE PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO ACTUALLY HAS A BRAIN! /s

Just to add for the sake of driving the point home, OP, if you buy a new OOTD game, can you, without using ANYTHING ELSE. Use it to as OOTHAX?

If you say yes, then it's a primary exploit.

If you say no, then it's a secondary exploit

it's a no because reasons as explained

We need a new term for hax that don't need a secondary exploit but do require extra hardware.
semi-primary exploit?
pseudo-primary exploit?

meh

I've got it! Sexy Secondary Sploit!
It's like a Secondary Exploit, just sexier. ^_^

My work here is done. [Spins around with cape flapping in the wind and soars into the sunset]

This exploit better provide me with some decent waifu material.

His logic will be wrong once smea fixes ninjhax as it no longer has access to Internet on 11.0

A) Powersaves is a hack
B) Because that's literally what the word secondary means.
C) free or not is irrelevant.
Not arguing but, if powersaves is a hack, shouldn't Nintendo be raining lawsuits on it? Considering their draconian stance on hacking (not saying that's weird or anything)?

Powersaves doesn't use any copyrighted material in their code for Nintendo to be able to sue them.

Emulators are widely used to pirate games > emulators themselves don't use any of Nintendo copyrights = Nintendo can't sue developers that make emulators because there is no infringement on their side.

Just because it hacks save data doesn't mean Nintendo can rain lawsuits on them.

You need to have another device or another console to inject the hacked save. If the game is useless by itself, it's secondary.

Technically this covers nearly any exploit other than something like web browser based exploits. Needing a computer to extract files, place files on the sdcard with a device other than the 3ds placing the files there, or executing code on anything other than the 3DS technically require another device, namely a computer.

So freakyhax and smashbroshax by your definition technically constitutes a secondary exploit.

I had a 2DS on 9.2U, and bought OoT. Used BrowserHax to launch HBlauncher and install the exploit to the cartridge. Nothing secondary about my setup. Just a virgin 2DS and the virgin retail cartridge. Didn't have to buy anything else.

Therefore...

OoTHax is a PRIMARY exploit!

What if you had OOT3D and your 3DS was on 10.7, without access to homebrew launcher? That makes it secondary cause you need a way to run Homebrew to put the hacked save in it, or a Powersave.

Well I guess it sucks to be those people then, but It was (and still is) a primary exploit for me.

What did you use to install OOT3Dhax? Browserhax right?

Browserhax is a Primary exploit cause it doesn't need anything but the boot.3dsx in the SD card.

With Homebrew Launcher, you got to install the OOT3Dhax. Making it a Secondary cause you used a Primary exploit to install the save.

tl:dr- You used a Primary exploit to install OOT3Dhax, therefore OOT3Dhax is a Secondary exploit

Not trying to argue, so please don't take this the wrong way ^~^

Pretty sure even web based exploits require you to have a file on the root of your sd card. By this logic nothing really is primary.
