Besides payload size and stage1-2 sector size (one can do this on a9lh v1) , what's the big changes that differs 2 different versions?

The installed native firm is 8.1 rather than 9.0. That is what gives a slight initial payload size advantage.
With chainloading payloads that can be an almost arbitrary size, this advantage is mostly superficial.

and why is it 8.1? if the advantage is superficial, why did people bother?

Weird! I had no idea there was a v2. I remember installing a9lh on both my 3DS's when it first came out so I guess
I have v1 of a9lh? Is there anything out right now that only works on v2 over v1?

I wrote the pull request that is now being called a9lh v2. There shouldn't be any user facing changes. Aurora's installer can now install using 8.1 firm. Tbh, the v1 vs v2 distinction is dumb, since it is pretty much the same codebase, just a different key and load position. I had another pull request be accepted recently that was a more invasive update. Shouldn't have any user facing differences.

Tl;dr, no reason to change a9lh install

I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.

Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.

Most manufacturers pack it well enough where they aren't that dumb to let it happen
