I did the soldering part of hardmod and dump the nands but I can't write the nand I got access denied error 5. What is the problem?

I'm going to downgrade my N3DSXL to 9.2 so that I can use gateway launcher to get a private header, if I downgrade to 9.2 will any 3DS game be unplayable on firmware 9.2 if I downgrade? like Xenoblade Chronicles for example.

Been using my 3ds like usual and then now i try to boot it up, it just stays on a black screen, the blue light is on at the bottom,

Running Luma3DS 5.5 + A9LH 'Updated' SysNAND 11.X-E

I'm using a Sky3ds+ and need to get a private header for it, on firmware 10.3 atm.
If you are going to downgrade for a header... You could just setup Menuhax+RedNAND//EmuNAND or go all out and do A9LH.

Anyways, Xenoblade Chronicles, requires I believe a minimum version of 9.4 to play.

Edit: Also, I would recommend doing a System Format prior to downgrading, especially on an N3DS system, to avoid the issue listed here.

Try the troubleshooting portion of Plailect's guide on that issue.

Then let me know what happens.

Then let me know what happens.

Ensure you have a working payload.
  1. Check for the existence of arm9loaderhax.bin in the root of your SD card.
  2. Check that
    1. /luma/firmware.bin exist; and
    2. /luma/firmware.bin is the correct one for your console. - done this~

Try resetting Luma's config and fix options
  1. Delete /luma/config.bin from your SD card
  2. Set your options when it boots - done this

Test booting Decrypt9
  1. On Luma3DS, hold Start on boot - did this but still black screens
Try this test payload (mirror).
  1. Rename /arm9loaderhax.bin, if it exists, to something else.
  2. Place the arm9loaderhax.bin from the archive linked above in your SD root.
  3. Insert your SD card into your 3DS and power on.
  4. Press A. Your 3DS should power off; this means arm9loaderhax is working and something else is broken; your device is not bricked. - did this, pressed A and 3DS powered off

What can I do now? :( im kinda worried.

I am late to the Cfw scene for the 3ds but was able to get home brew working on a new 3ds xl. My question is it possible to do a system transfer from my new 3ds xl running official 11.0.0-20U to the other unit with cfw? I want to be able to just use one device but keep all my purchases, data, and have access to link it to my nintendo account. Thanks for any help and direction.

Yes, provided you set up full CFW and not just the Homebrew Launcher, you can update to 11.0 on the CFW 3DS, then perform a normal system transfer from the OFW 3DS to the CFW 3DS.

Be sure you're actually on CFW before updating though! The Homebrew Launcher is NOT CFW. If you update the 3DS and don't have CFW, you'll lock yourself out of Homebrew, and CFW itself.

Yes I made are sure. System boots into cfw and has the home brew channel and Luma as icons.

Say, how would I go about finding a 3ds vulnerability, like on the Wii U scene with this:http://gbatemp.net/threads/ida-stuff.424786/ ?
Yes, I have a rudimentary understanding of C and code in general. I just want to know how I can look at the OS for vulnerabilities.

I can try at least! At the very least I'll learn a lot!

Hello.
I followed Plailect's guide and I am now stuck on part 5 section 3 with a black screen. I've looked at the troubleshooting guide and I cant find firmware.bit file.
